S&T>>>>IBThanks! Although I'll be working in the S&T division, IB is a little far for me right now
Sorry, I should probably have added sexism to the list...I hate her so much
Disliking a female = automatic sexism now? lolSorry, I should probably have added sexism to the list...
Do those morons realize he's a owns part of a private jet usage company?
He's too nice to tell the environmentalist whackos to F-off but I'm not.
The one silver lining to the current pandemic is that now the sane people realize that what the temperature of the earth in 2200 is going to be is completely unimportant.
Sane people know that the big problem is climate change. We have been living with viruses, and we have science to help us with disease, and with climate change. If leaders follow the science!
Oh ho ho you slyboots.Irony is too strong when you see all these people sleepwalking with masks, carrying around the net with giant WAKE UP on it.
??Sorry, I should probably have added sexism to the list...
I actually find it highly disturbing how obscenely rich people forgo ethics for an objectively paltry percentage of their net worth.
How difficult can it be to just reject an advertiser or sponsor whose philosophy disagrees with you, when you know full well that it makes absolutely no meaningful difference to your finances.
To be fair to Roger, he is from a country that produced Nestle, and horded **** gold.
Except for the millions of his own dollars he’s spent - and the years he been involved with the foundation he created - to build schools for the most impoverished children of South Africa.Environmentalists are doing very important work, but I'm not sure what they expect from Roger Federer. He's the last guy who'll ever take any kind of principled stance off the court. Not to say he's a bad guy; he's just never been especially socially conscious.
Michael Jordan was his sporting hero growing up, and he's very much taken a Jordan-esque approach to his off-court affairs (sans the gambling).
Except for the millions of his own dollars he’s spent - and the years he been involved with the foundation he created - to build schools for the most impoverished children of South Africa.
And except for the many charity matches to meet relief efforts he’s hosted or participated in that have raised millions for relief.
And except for the million he just donated to help w Covid relief this year.
But other than that, yeah - he has no off court principles.

The post I was responding to spoke of “social consciousness” and being altruistically principled - and noted Federer is essentially not motivated to act in those ways.Philanthropy has made a bit of a comeback, but it's due to very unfortunate reasons. Socailly-conscious environmentalism is not the same thing.
Unless you’re the Federal ReserveFederer: guys, money doesn't grow on trees.
Unless you’re the Federal Reserve
Socially conscious environmentalism by individuals is nothing more than shaming / virtue signaling. It has no real effect on the actual problems.Socially-conscious environmentalism is not the same thing.
And if they went after Novak like this ... you guys would all be saying what an bad person nole isAbsolutely hilarious. Only makes me like Roger more.

We all all knew this of course, but Covid quarantining has proven it.
