The operative word is 'big'.

The players are not very happy for the unequal treatment in relation to big players in Adelaide.

Naomi Osaka is doing a great job at fighting for player equality.

Can someone explain is 5 people standing beside each other on tennis court within rules?
Not to mention no masks either?
Have these 5 persons completed their 2 week quarantine already?

I though then players in Melbourne didn’t even have a window - just allowed out for 5 hours...

It's amusing that the T-dubbers that are usually for "equal pay, more opportunity for the little guy, etc." are now against the disenfranchised, claiming "they knew the rules before hand", as if that same logic can't be applied to every tournament anyone ever signed up for ...

I am very confused as to how Osaka is allowed to do what she is doing. My understanding was they were allowed 1 partner to practice with for those 5 hours but she’s allowed multiple people? Unless the people in the photo have already done hotel quarantine, how are they allowed to be that close to her? I thought the same when I saw Djokovic in a cab with multiple people and no mask. This is just getting too much now.

Why should anyone be annoyed? All is fine, under the rules... Everyone should be happy for chance to be where they are... You know... free food (bad but free), clean sheets, mouses in rooms are exception, free Wi-Fi, electricity, water...

Couldn’t they have scheduled some 250/500 tournaments in Adelaide instead of having just an exhibition for top players? It sounds like South Australia quarantine conditions are less stringent than Victoria and it would have made sense to have players quarantine there. Or maybe the Victorian health officials were willing to let only a few players quarantine out of state? If this is the case, it is sad to see different health rules just for the elite players who also have been allowed to have bigger entourages in Adelaide.

As I said, and as AO authorities say, everything is just ok, by all rules, players should be happy for opportunity to play...
And, Australia should be proud to be first world country, not ashamed... So, they should avoid third world things, such as censorship...

And about practice equipment, all rooms are already equipped... There is one picture above with towel on the room floor, which can be used for intense practice...

I think that it is Katie Boulter from the UK based on a similar Instagram Pic she posted with the same racquet leaning against the wall. Damn…the WTA players are going to be getting some new fans if they post more workout pictures with the right ‘view’ from their rooms;)

There is no censorship. There is merely an attempt to put a lid on bad publicity. Sometimes that goes too far, but we'll see if that happens.

Not everyone knew them because they weren’t smart enough to attend the meetings required. However, the disproportionate application of the rules is just one of the scandals.

You do realize it’s not the government asking them not to post? It’s Tennis Aus? Companies can do whatever they want with their employees saying don’t post this on social media. Why you’re acting like this is North Korea censoring its citizens from the outside world is beyond a joke. Take a look at what your saying cause you’re losing any credibility with each post.

Tennis players are employees of Tennis Aus? Didn't know that... Have you ever heard any tournament forbidding plsyers to post any activity as court practice is? What's the problem in this case? Are some players allowed to practice? Yes they are. Do they brake some rules? No they don't. What's the problem to host your legal activities? Censorship... Why? Because Tennis Aus knows all this is deeply wrong...

Where did you see the word forbid? They asked not to post doesn’t mean you will be arrested if you post or you’re forbidden. Take a step back from being so melodramatic.

The good news is:

Some of the cases of covid are to be re-classified as viral shedding.

It's possible more players will be eligible for practice sessions.

This is what you can expect when a tournament is well-run in a pandemic!
