Karatsev, Sinner and Musetti are all flavour of the month and overrated

None of them are ever going to win another title again or even feature in the top 50 after 2021.

It's quite tiring to hear this forum constantly hype up players who have achieved nothing. Let's wait until they win 15+ Slams before we give anyone any hype.

Yes, we've had many flavors of the month, but we obviously don't like any particular flavor because they keep disappearing.

Karatsev is ok but his match against Djokovic showed us what his upper limit is.

I agree. I can understand him getting the hype he is now. I even think he could get to the top 10 perhaps, but I don't think we'll see him at the business end of every major like we did at the AO. He's already 27 so he's a late bloomer if anything. And I certainly don't expect him to be the next Wawrinka.

Wait till 15 slams before hype.. thats... thats... silly... Medvedev deserves the hype, and he has no GS's .. you don't need slams to be hyped, you need game, then you may win a slam..

Well, Karatsev, even at 27, has a lot of time on his side. Players on both tours at their best speed/power and wins post-30. He could have his best year years from now and take a title with the big 3 retiring from the sport.

I think they're all pretty good. I think Musetti and Sinner will both be at least as good as the next gen's top players. Karatsev is already 27. He is probably peaking right now. But he's done pretty well and can be proud of winning that ATP title. Was that his first one? Am too lazy to check.

Karatsev won a total of 3 MATCHES at the ATP level prior to AO, so yes this was his first title.

He's gonna have to get injured/totally lose form/hookers&blow to not be in the top 50 for the next couple years. Everything's clicking for him and I hope it continues because he is a blast to watch.

People are talking about Karatsev because of the entertaining way he plays. People are tired of watching grinder Djokovic clones and want to see aggressive shotmaking tennis succeed. It’s why there are so many Federer and Nalbandian fans on this website. At the end of the day tennis is entertainment and watching some guy win by standing 20 feet back, running side to side and keeping the ball in play is boring as ****. Karatsev will probably not succeed in hitting through Djokovic on a slow court but it’s still great to watch him play. We need more players with this style on tour.

While the people at the top keep winning they have an element of control over the surfaces. It's why all surfaces are basically the same. Help the big names be in the finals = sell more

And I forgot to mention, let a player win 15+ Slams BEFORE THE AGE OF 25 before we give them any hype. Only then is it deserving, because that player actually has a shot at becoming a Great of the game.

So we should care only about 3 players? Tennis is more than that.
