Renovated Tennis Club in OC (La Habra/Brea Area), CA

I just visited the La Habra tennis center today for the first time in years. The club had recently changed ownership and the difference is like night and day -- lots of courts with a nice blue on green color schemes. The new owner has worked with a lot of top so. cal. juniors so it'll be a place with a lot of strong players.

I have no affiliation with the club... just passing the word around.

Do you know any courts that are public with lights? I live in Anaheim, and the lights there are not very good. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the message about these courts.

I have played some tournaments there in the past and they also had a nice singles challenge night, is that still being held ? One of the best facilities in this area is the Whittier Narrows Tennis Center. They have lots, maybe 20, of courts and a quality lighting system.

Can't I rent a court there if I am not a member of the club? Do you know how much it costs per hour? I tried to contact them online but they didn't have a website. Would you please give me a contact number?
Thanks

Hope it's not taboo to bring back to life some older threads, but anybody in the Brea, north Orange County area want to get together for some rallying/points/whatever?

Graduate school, work, marriage+kids have taken their toll on my circle of hitting partners...

Stopped by the La Habra tennis center a few weeks ago while taking the kids to the children museum (right next door).... the place was dead!!

HA... know what you mean; being there man. What's your playing level?

mello, with age and complacency taking their toll, probably just a little better than 4.0 now. Hoping to get the game in working order. If you ever want to hit some, there are a couple courts near me that are pretty well maintained.

La Habra Tennis Center (562)690-5040. I think they charge $8-$12 per hour. Very nice facility and is quite busy with junior programs during the week.

There is another location a bit south called Fullerton Tennis Center (714)773-5750 and I think the rates are similar. This is located on Harbor near Bastanchury next to the Medical Center. Facility is well kept not as busy as La Habra and they don't have the new blue paint but have the traditional green and dark red.

I don't mind rallying after work drop me a note ago.albert@gmail.com.

I agree La Habra tennis center is an excellent facility. Dave Nowick runs it now and does a great job. I believe they have several week nights and weekend mornings for drop-in singles/doubles. You should call ahead though. I used to play a Wednesday night mixed doubles which was fun. I have USTA league teams play out of that facility when I want to play the OC leagues/teams. Cheers!

I went there today for the novice tournament there and it looks great. The proshop has some good prices and the courts look flawless.

Just bumping this post to see if there's any members that play in the Brea/La Habra/Orange County area. Always looking to expand my circle of hitting partners. Email is in # 7 above.
