New TW Website? Unimpressed so far

The design is substandard and the prior design was better. Where is all the TW university stuff like comparing sweet spot? Can't even find it

It took me a moment to find this stuff also. On the main page, there are two 'tabs': Shop and Improve.

If you click on Improve, on the left hand side there is a link to Tennis Warehouse University. They did a really good job hiding it...

Oh my god this new website sucks. I searched for ever for a desktop version. Mobile sites used to be able to change back to desktop (old version) somewhere on the bottom. Nope. I tried calling today to ask/complain and was put on hold so long both times I ended up hanging up both times. If it was to order something they would have lost sales. Whoever is making the decisions lately needs to be fired.

It just takes too long to navigate through the options. I like to browse every now and then to see if anything of the new products looks interesting but will have to do it on a competitor since the desktop website looks so zoomed in like it was designed for a mobile phone.

Tough crowd.

Roll back time? :sneaky:

I too much prefer the old site, the new one looks like every other site to me.
I'm guessing that over time we will all get used to it. There's always an initial backlash to such kinds of updates. I'm not wild about it, still, but I highly doubt they'll be rolling back.

I used to go to the TW site at least 2 times per day just to look at “ Tennis stuff “ and read the reviews. I’d spend enough time on the site that I’d often make impulse purchases. Now I spend zero time on the site and coincidentally have made exactly zero purchases.
i was a loyal customer to the old site and loved all of the great information.
Since that’s gone and has been replaced with a sterile experience I may have made my last purchase.

I really tried to like the new site...but failed. It's okay on mobile, though I'm not sure it's an improvement. On anything larger, even my small Chromebook, it's downright unpleasant. Like others, I used to browse TW to look around now and then. The new site has put a damper on that. I miss the old site.

LOL,

Someone should try to put a demo order together ... LMK how it works goes for you <eyeroll>.

@TW Staff did ANYONE qa test this site?—horrible, awful eyesore that it is notwithstanding.

omg.

I don't like the new website! it's definitely not user friendly as before and lacks of many great things that the previous website had!
Not a fan!

Thank you to everyone for their feedback and for being loyal customers over the years. We've been following your comments and have made a few updates like adding the Power Map and compare option to racquets. Please check back regularly as we will continue to make adjustments to our site.

Thank you,

TW Staff, thanks for listening and making changes.

However I don't think you can tweak a broken system enough to make it user friendly again. You can't take a lean system and change it to all of this extra scrolling, clicking, navigating and wide open spaces then try to tweak your way back to lean.

Can you tell us why you felt the need to do this? By all accounts the mobile site is improved but in the process the desktop site is... well... this. Are there that many more people using mobile to order instead of the desktop?

Yeah, this new site is terrible. Just trying to setup demos is a challenge now. If you go back, the demo selection gets wiped out. It's more difficult to look at racquets. The site looks bland. Please go back to the old system. This is terrible. I literally went to your competitors site yesterday for information because I found it so difficult.

Is the website out of sync for you time-wise? It seems like the post times are off. For example on the main page under "Latest posts," a post will be listed as "a moment ago," but when I go the the actual thread the post in question won't even be there yet. Everything seems off somehow.

As bad as the new design is, there are several links that are broken and in the case of bags, link to the wrong one.

Submitting a Review interface is in bad need of work. Recaptcha keeps asking for verification every 10 seconds with cookies enabled, review text window is tiny, as is the review pop up. That's on Desktop/Chrome

Maybe time for a debug thread as to keep design complaints and known bugs separate.

It's more difficult to look at racquets.

This *by itself* indicates the need to rollback.

With MAP pricing on frames (and, more generally, no remaining advantage with their return policy) there's no reason to shop TW in the face of a painful online experience.

Looking at one of the Adidas shirts right now. To look at another view I have to scroll down and click the arrow button and then scroll back up so that I can actually see the photo. lol

When I suggest customers resupply items for their own bag I'm not sharing TW links now.

What more can I say?
I'm doing my browsing and read the reviews on TW Europe and buying somewhere else (about to order shoes from competitor for first time in a very long time). I love TW's reviews but I'm not going to support this change.

I am a stringer and have been using and recommending TW to my customers since 2008. What did I like about TW? Ease of navigation. This used to be the fastest and easiest site to use. I am trying to place a string order and it was going so poorly I felt the need to log on here and add my voice to those saying the old site was superior to the current one. The new site makes using TW just as annoying as the other tennis sites. Actually, with all the server errors, worse than the others.

Maybe I've just missed it on the redesign, but how do we get to the written racquet reviews? I like the video reviews, but I always found the additional detail in the written reviews interesting. I can't find them at all now. Have they been removed?

I encourage you to revisit your doubts after they tally their monthly revenue numbers (or use their logging to count abandoned shopping carts and so forth).

@Chris Wilson It appears that, once you're in the reviews section, you can choose which types of reviews you would like to see-- "All Racquets", "All Shoes", etc. Click on one of those buttons and it takes you to a page with all the reviews for that equipment type. Click on the product you'd like to see the review for. It then takes you to a page where both the video and written review reside.

HI @Chris Wilson and @Gemini -

There is a Reviews link in the navigation bar that will take you to a page to access all reviews. That page is found here:

Reviews are also found on individual product pages. The TW review button for racquets and shoes is below the order options.

As bad as the new design is, there are several links that are broken and in the case of bags, link to the wrong one.

Sorry about the incorrect links. If you have time to share one, we can take a look.

Thanks,
Tiffani, TW

Seriously, it's been two weeks and all I can see is TW standing by this amateur design with no intention of doing more than implementing tweaks as they go along.

Until today I was reading reviews and browsing on TW Europe. Now it's changed as well. How long before the powers that be hose Tennis Only?

Hire professionals.

@Rodd4LSU - Thanks again for the heads up on the bags. The issue has been fixed. However, the Babolat bag is now off the site since it's out of stock and backordered. I'm going to follow up with the buyer to get more updated information before we make it available for ordering again.

Thanks,
Tiffani, TW

Demo ordering also seems bugged, or maybe the tool only shows currently in stock racquets. When I filter by ProKennex for example, I can't find certain racquets in the demo tool, but when I go to the product page (e.g. Ki Q+ Tour Pro 325) I can add it to demo tool with an indication of when it will be in stock. I kind of liked just adding demos to cart...that way if I have multiple tabs open comparing racquets, I can just add to cart instead of having to find them again in the demo tool.

When are you going to fix the inconsistent UI? Racquets have two views, one that just names the racquet and the price, the other with a blurb and tells whether it's been reviewed or not. No place else has this. Shoes? They just have the price view. You have to click on the model and go to its page to see if it's been reviewed.

Some shoes have a row with the different models and their description ("Categories"). Others don't. Wilson has 2 models both in their little description box, Diadora has no description boxes for its 2 listed models (of course, TW Europe does have it for Diadora because consistency). ON has several models and no description boxes. adidas has the word "Categories" with a dropdown but Asics and Nike and others don't. And on and on...

Seriously, this is basic web design 101 - consistent interface. Are you designing these pages individually? It's the only explanation that makes sense for this level of inconsistency.

When are you going to fix that layout embarrassment that is the ratings for shoes and racquets?

This beta site is riddled with poor design choice and implementation but you went live anyway. This site would never have made it past QC in my old place of work.

What's all the fuss and complaints about the new web site design?
Click ..., click, click ... Hmm ... a few moments later .... "I guess they were right".

Clicked on "Clearance". Scrolled down. (yes a LOT of white spaces - waste of screen real estate).
Hmm. Free Shipping on Dunlop ATP Ball Cases. But, but ... why is the picture showing Wilson Cushion-aire Classic Perforated Replacement Grip. o_O:unsure:

Definitely this new design change is not ready for Release.

Aesthetics are one thing - but two weeks post-launch there’s still a ton of major functional glitches. Clearly this was rushed and launched too early. It’s getting really frustrating and I’m starting to shop at competitors.
