If the bounce is high it will favor Tsi-Tsi but then Meddy is a better hard court player, so not sure, maybe both of them have their shot at the title.

He is 4th favorite after Djokovic, Zverev and Medvedev. So yes, he has a chance but I don't think he will.

How can anyone forget 2-1 5-1 0-40 against Coric last year. He had like 5 or 6 match points, served twice for the match and lost in the 5th set tie-break. Most epic choke (from a top-5 player) I've seen in slams in a very long time. In 2019 didn't he lose to Fabbiano or some unknown qualified? He has never performed in NY and he has never played well in America in general. Even though he reached the SF last week, I'm still not convinced he is over RG. But if Djokovic is disqualified again and Medvedev/Zverev are taken out by guys like Hurkacz or Carreno, maybe Tsitsipas could take advantage.

(I assume Nadal isn't playing, of course. If he plays and is 100% fit / painless, he is still 2nd co-favorite for me).

Next gens are a joke but Thiem isn't next gen. He choked big time in final though.

How is Thiem not next gen? He is 8 years younger than Novak

Dimitrov Raonic Nishikori were also next gen at one point but now are classified as lost gen. These guys are 5 years younger than Djokodal. They were to Djokodal in the same way Djokodal were to Fed

Thiem is 6 years elder to Tsitsipas who is next gen.

If people bought houses after betting on their "you've heard it first" predictions, there would be no more houses unsold on planet Earth
If people had to bet their houses on their "you've heard it here first" predictions, that fully explains the homeless population on planet Earth

Was one set away from a better version of Nole playing inspired tennis…
Tsitsipas was a non factor in the final 3 sets and that was against a Djokovic who'd played 4 hours with Rafa and on his weakest surface. He had nothing left in the tank at 23 vs a 34 year old LMAO.

He’s the 4th favourite in my opinion. I don’t see him beating Djokovic, medvedev and probably Zverev right now. If those guys get upset though then he can but unlikely they all crash out early.

Thiem is 7 years younger. Too old to be next gen and not old enough to be part of lost 30 and 30+ year old lost gen.

He's part of the transition gen between the lost gen and next gen. These include Thiem, Kyrgios, Pouille etc.

Next gen is Tsitsipas, Zverev, FAA, Shapo, Sinner etc.

Won't be much of a surprise. Right now he's about 3rd co-favorite, with Nadal and Zverev, behind Djokovic and Medvedev.

Nadal might be injured, both Medvedev and Zverev are head cases in big events. Oh, Djokovic might be injured too. And who knows what's the trouble with defending champ Thiem!

Nice win tonight over Korda. He did play well and 2 breaks in the 2nd set is a step in the right direction.

I'm afraid to say that Stefanos "Stef" Tsitsipas has now peaked, and it's downhill all the way from here.

Those halcyon days of Peaktsipas are no more.

On a sweltering, Parisian afternoon in June, "the blond Hercules" was on the cusp of greatness - 2 sets to love up against respected Serbian protagonist, Novak "Nole" Djokovic.

But now, looking back, that was the zenith of his career. He will never get close to reaching the summit of Mt. Olympus.

Instead, his tennis career will be an analogue for the eternal toil of Sisyphus.

I can now guarantee that Stefanos Sisyphus will never win a Grand Slam title.

If he couldn’t win RG then it’s highly unlikely he will win USO unless all seeds fall before meeting him… He can’t beat Djokovic or Med or Zverev for sure. But he should make it to SF.

He’s in the mix but dkojer, med and Zverev ahead of him he’s a 4th fav considering the field I think one of those 3 win it. Tsitsi should make a deep run at least

I think USO belongs to Zv this year. Olympics must've given him a huge boost. Tsitsi still hasn't recovered from his FO defeat.
