"People don't like Djokovic because he beats their favourite player all the time" - Mardy Fish

I have never liked Djokovic and it has nothing to do with his winning against my favorite players. I don't like his personality and I don't trust him having read all the accusations against him going back to 2007 (note: this is my opinion and I am entitled to it). I know he will win a few more Grand Slams but I do not want this to be one of them - I want this to be a transitional Grand Slam where men's tennis moves away from the big 3 era and we start a new era. I think Djokovic and Nadal will both win more slams but I want other players to start winning them too. I am sticking to my prediction that Medvedev is going to win on Sunday, but I concede that Djokovic could win it too, and so could Zverev. That's why they play, to see who the winner actually is! I also get that his fans are excited but they do need to concede that it is possible he won't be the winner on Sunday.

Sorry, Nadal is done and dusted.

In a very best scenario he has a last 14th FO left in him but for that a lot of luck will be needed like that Peter had in 2002, pure luck, nadal is in the same boat as peter was in 01

Tennis is not my day job and it is NOT about me. I told you why he's not liked as much. Like it or not. Don't shoot the messenger.
And don't include Rafa in this. Rafa does not play like that. He goes for his winners at every opportunity unlike Djokovic. If consistency is the only thing then let's have a moonballing contest and see how exciting it is.
Rafa always goes for winner but for some unknown reasons Djokovic always has more winners in their matches )))

Interesting, so how did people learn to like Fed when he started beating Agassi or Nadal when he started beating Fed.

It's about making it happen with your play. Djokovic's play is to hit deep one side without going for it. Then he takes it to the other side deep without going for it. Then again. Then again. You're going to have a winner at some point, no? But the play is boring. He's simply sucking the life out of his opponents.

If you're going to ask someone in the crowd - what is Djokovic's weapon? Most would struggle. He does not have one. He relies on his consistent robotic play. If you ask the same person about Fed or Nadal's weapon - I doubt many people would struggle with that.

Djokovic has never really had a rival either. Fed had Nadal and Nadal had Fed. Djoko came in as this annoying third wheel. And the rivalry Fedal had, worked so well because they are polar opposite of players with Fed being very graceful and classy and Nadal being a high intensity brute while Djoko is just a boring robot bashing from the baseline and it's not very interesting to watch.

He has his flaws like Bull and every other player and human being but non of those flaws would matter if he were a pigeon to your Bull. So again you're only kidding yourself here.

Speak for me daddy :D

Ah yes....Miami where Djokovic has the record for 6 titles and Nadal has the record for most finals lost.

Novak you brutal savage you!

No. Because the only time we actually talk tennis is when we talk Novak v Rafa...You don't need to like him, but please try not to think we don't know how much you cheered him when he was only a thorn in Federer's side.

Heck you were an OG TeamEarth'sMightiest ;)

Then those Sundays happened....

I love this narrative lol. I said in 2010 I didn't care who won the 2010 USO final (and I didnt). That was it.

Nadal and Federer had each other and Djokovic had no rival? Then why did both Nadal and Federer play Djokovic more than they played each other?

That's what I mean. Still, there are movies and documentaries made about Fed and Nadal rivalry. But there won't be any about Djoko.

Again you're clueless if you think his fans care about what other fans think of him, it's the opposite they enjoy collecting the tears of his haters like yourself. More tears = sweeter victories. :D

I'm not talking about movies and documentaries. I'm talking about how did he not have a rival when he played them that much, more than they played each other. Fedal played 41 times compared to Djokovic playing Federer 51 times and Nadal 58 times. If anything, Djokovic has been more of a rival to both of them.

How many of you have seen the iconic movie Die Hard?

Novak Djokovic is basically like John McClaine, the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, but becomes an absolute pain in the @$$ for Hans Gruber and his perfectly designed plan.

Novak Djokovic, just like John McClaine wasn't meant to ruin the party, but when he showed up, the real fireworks began.

Come on Hiti! At least Nadal was in the wrong time. Novak was in the right place and at the right time:p
Winning 11 titles and not winning the YE?! Gimme a break:laughing:
He beat Roger at 2005 RG and 2014 AO and Novak at 2006 RG and 2014 FO which means for a decade he was working his ass off to stop two ATGs.
By the end of 2014 season he was 9-2 against Roger and 9-3 against Novak at slams. And keep in mind that Rafa and Novak are almost the same age. Do you expect Rafa to beat every player left and right till 2030-2035 and then just retire?!
Novak didn't face that kind of pressure. He needed Rafa to stop Roger otherwise the slam race was done and dusted a decade ago.
