I prefer freedom.

Were you around when a poster was posting gruesome psycho porn threads in hour long cyber attacks here?It had got so bad that it was happening every other week. If you weren't then you can't see where I am coming from.

You mean Sabratha? LOL I know him well, yes but I wasn't here when the heinous crimes happened. Some folks did tell me later but that isn't the point. The point is, we can't take the freedom away from all the new users just because of some occasional hiccups here and there.

So might as well have the freedom to create as many threads one desires. Also, why should there be a different rule for the newbies?
Wait until you’re here on a random Saturday morning when Son of Sabratha strikes again with his thread bombs including porn and/or accident aftermath photos.

Mandatory 1K posts minimum would help bash that superfreak.

Well, with just a little thought, an algorithm could be created that would compare site activity
to some "floating normal" and when that norm is exceeded an alert goes out to the system supervisor
(or wakes him/her up st home) so they can check the situation. If it is benign, they ignore, life goes on. If it is
abuse, they can clean up the mess, all without imposing arbitrary restrictions on the
Legitimate users.

I would love to see the algorithm developed and relied upon five summers ago when Maude went berserk and picked apart threads by deleting the most innocuous of posts. @Mike Bulgakov , didn’t you see several thoughts of yours erased simply for referring to historical events from nearly a century ago?

Ahh, the good old days when plots were hatched among groups of forum members on WhatsApp in response to those 2017 overaggressive algorithms. It’s a small miracle anyone active on the forum that summer survived that hot mess.
