I saw Isner for the first time & like Duzza said: " no groundies." - everthing is built around his first serve, and his volley needs work.

SAm Isner .. 100%.

When will you let them come here or if theyve been to europe, will they qualify for some first rounds so we can watch them a bit ?

Agree, too early to tell yet. That being said I guess some of you have not seen Isners forehand. The guy has some really good groundstrokes. I'm going with Isner.

Sam has a Forehand that rival Roddick and Federer, his forehand is that good. so ISner comes up little short on that point, he will occastionaly flatten it out and go for a 100 mph forehand but he only does it once in a blue moon.

saw isner at seascape challengar and frankly thought he sucked except for his serve. I was absolutely shocked to see him beat haas monfils ect.
Querry > Isner

Querrey has really played the top guys tough that he has played. Taking Blake to three sets, and he is still super young. He has got a lot of talent, he will be a top ten player in a few years.

uh, no. isner has some of the worst groundstrokes of any top 200 player in the world. very erratic. he can flatten out a forehand for a winner when he's going for broke but he misses many more of those than he makes. he does have a great serve and good volleys. other than that, he's not top 1,000 in the world.

Man you are way off the mark on this one. How do beat Haas, Henman, Becker, and Monfils in a tournament and you aren't top 1000. WTF? Come on man, think before you type. Isner is definitely top 100 or top 50 if he keeps working on his game.

dude, re-read my post. i said if you took away his serve and volley then he's not top 1,000 in the world.

No you didn't say that, but I get what your saying. You said he had a good serve and volley but he is not top 1000. That is why I was confused about what you were saying.

"other than that" means other than his serve/volley. i'm not sure how you read that as something else.

After seeing both in person, Sam Querrey is the better player.

Isner is pretty bad at net and I found myself questioning some of the shots he chose to play. Querrey was great to watch (isner was too, don't get me wrong) and I think he'll do way better than Isner will.

From watching both matches at Cincy ---

Querry has NBA agility and quickness to go with a pretty good serve and forehand. Needs work on his net game but that will come

Isner - When the first serve is working ...... when its not he doens't have a plan B --- My prediction is eventually he'll be 1/2 of a very formidable doubles team.

That's just false. He's got a great forehand. Have you ever watched him?

no he doesn't. his forehand is a go for broke slap shot. not consistency to speak of at all. and yes i've watched him all the way back to when he was 12-13 since i used to live in greensboro where he grew up.

Sorry to disagree with you Storm but isner only hits that so called great forehand when the ball is sitting up nice like a powder cake. If he is rushed on that side, actually both sides, he will either miss or just hit a medium pace neutral shot back just to keep the point going. Whereas, Querry can hit a clean winner from the forehand side with any shot or any where on the court.

Ha, noone here is mentioning Donald Young. Instead the focus is on Isner or Querry because Donald Young sucks big time. The media smelled a male Venus Or Serena Williams prodigy but he only won his 1st ATP match after 3 years - Horrible record! I'm sure players from China did better!
