impressed by blake vs. haas

who else was...I was literally screaming at the tv during the last set...I was so on edge...Its been a while since I have gotten that worked up over a match. I really think that the quality of tennis played there was amazing. Have to say that match is already a classic in my book.

Any one else feel this way? I mean I know its just a match but it was freaking amazing and I don't get that amazed by players that much anymore...the last one that I was this astounded by was porlly the Australian open fed and A-Rod and I was blown away by how Fed just casually dismissed Rod.

So...I'm just to hyper or is there an actual reason for my excitement over the match

BTW I was rooting for Blake but I got to say that I have a new respect for Haas now.

It was a fantastic match. I too, was pulling for Blake, but man did Haas find another gear in the 4th set or what! It was a total heartbreaker for me as a blake fan because I really want to see him win a slam before he retires and I thought he had a fair shot at it this year. Oh well. Tommy was brilliant in the last two sets. Just too tough, and James couldnt come up with the goods when he had to. I really thought James was going to close it on one of those match points he had with Tommy serving at 4-5. I knew that after he lost those 3 opportunities, it was unlikely for him to keep his spirits up to win it in the breaker. Im still upset about that match, but Ill get over it. Maybe Roddick will give me something to cheer for on Wed. DOUBTFUL though....

I agree - the most intense match I've seen in a long time. This one really got me going. I was almost as excited as back then in the good days of McEnroe and Boris Becker ... I thought I couldn't feel this way about Tennis any more.

It was indeed one of the best matches I have seen in a while. Some amazing shots from both players and the drama, just wow.
No doubt they will play that tie-break point with the two lobs a few times on replays.
Very even match up, the match swayed so many times
Haas did have a "touch" of Becker to him with that diving and some of those volleys

My Eurosport commentator said he was sitting there with goosebumps in the final set and then added "but really, who isn't right now!!"..

Epic match, like a grand slam match Should be. Match of the tourney for me so far!

One of the best of the tourney so far, I agree. Great stuff. I would have been happy for either to win after an effort like that, much as I feel bad for Blake.

It was another good match for the men. I have to say, the men's side has been a lot more entertaining than the women's side...but then when has women's tennis ever been entertaining?

This tourney I've enjoyed Peer's matches and look forward to hers upcoming. There's been select other moments and/or full sets of women's tennis that has been good as well, but you're right - its been the men's matches that have had the edge of the seat shows so far.

I was rooting for Haas and was on the edge of my seat during those 3 match points and pretty much the entire match, but Haas pulled through! They played some amazing tennis and it was an incredibly exciting match.
