Just wondering is there anything of a benefit to wearing the double wide wristbands that most of the pros are sporting these days, or is it purely a fashion statement?

no , it helps in keeping the sweat of your arms so it wont reach the racquet. Same is throug with the headband and the cap. All accesories have their purposes......

except for the baller

maybe yes, maybe no, you groove your strokes with the weight on, but in play you'll hit long without the weight

They absorb more and I think they provide a somekind better hold to the wrist.

I like the double wides because I'm from Texas and that's what we all live in...Double wides.

Seriously, I like them because I use mine to wipe my eyes and forehead, so it works better for that. I can't really tell that it keeps more sweat off my hand or not, but it sure works well for wiping my head.

there is more coverage, and like todot said if is pretty easy to wipe off your face. they absorb more sweat, and the smaller ones are too small to really wipe down your face with.

i would want ot wear on both forearms...but it looks kinda of "playacting" or like...mmmm how should i put it, "acting like professional"

so in the end, i usually wear for my forehand arm... and when i do a double backhand... the top part of the grip is wet. zzz

I wear one sometimes if its really humid out to wipe my face b/c I hate sweat in my eyes.

ha but sometimes I feel like I'm trying to be pro or something wearing one.

I can't play without the double wide wristbands or else all the sweat from my arm will roll down to my hand and cause my grip to slip. I also use them to wipe the sweat off of my brow during games. I've been using double wide wristbands for many, many years.

Double wide wristbands are awesome... both as a fashion statement and functionality on the court... Anyone know where I can find assorted colors other than the ones offered by Nike??

lol yeah i wore a double wide arm band for a week when training outside for a week for tennis, and then for the whole week after i had a wristband tan...pretty funny looking!
