I like her groundstrokes and pinpoint accuracy when she's on. I like the way she stands in the middle of the court and makes her opponent look like they're scurrying back and forth like a rabbit. I like her personality, her candor, and her ability to be truthful. I think hanging out with Lindsay would be a hoot!

I like her too. She's all about tennis not media hype and other nonsense. I don't think I've ever heard a negative thing come out of her mouth about a loss, an opponent, etc.

If anyone has a chance to see her play in person, her ball striking is something to admire. That attribute alone with some consistency, she is a threat in everything except maybe clay, movement aside.
Also, she is 31 and the leading money winner on the women’s tour, she may not have won as much grand slam titles, but she has been consistent throughout.

Her angles and ball striking are impecable. her forehand, when struck well is so drilled into the corners and precise that its a sight to see for sure. her serve is accurate and she has an amazing return game. she actually has an amzing all around game with her only drawback being her movement and footwork because she is so tall. she hits great angles and is a great pace setter in points when she is on and in the match. I have always been surprised that she hasn't won more than 3 majors.

I agree, however, I've seen dominate a match and then just kind of keel over toward the end, giving the match to her opponent inexplicably. I love her, but because of this, she can be tough to root for.

I respect Linsday bcause while always had talent, she couldn't put it together. She was very out of shape and undisciplined when she first burst on the scene.
She made the choice to pull herself together, to see how good she could be. She got in shape, trained hard, and became a Slam champion despite not having he athletic skills of most top players. She morphed into a great champion and great person, a woman who was comfortable in her own skin and never made excuses.
She has always lacked drama and has gone about her tennis as a true professional, as if she were going to a 9 to 5 job. She's been humble, gracious, and forthcoming.
From a purely tennis perspective, as others said, she has incredible groundstrokes. Watching her beat Ivanovic in Miami, shows how he not only uses pace, but consistent depth to put her opponents on defense. Given how flat she hits, her stroke production is remarkable.

I think her brain may be her best attribute. Closely followed by her groundies.
She is such a sweetheart. I remember seeing her on the Tonight Show after her USO win in 98. Very nice and down to earth, and that doesn't seem to have changed.

Davenport is my favourite women's player by a long shot, she seems like a down to earth person which helps. Always admired her game, an all court player, been doubles world number 1 as well as singles. Great achievement to say you have done a whole lot in both sides.

Serve's still a weapon. I wouldn't want to face it.
I always thought Lindsay hit such a clean ball. It seems like the only time she mishits it is when she can't get there, which probably happens a bit too much these days.

Lindsay has been my favourite for years and here's why. Graceful winner and loser. Down to earth personaility and I love her power game and precision when all going well it a work of art and something to be admired. I also like the fact she an insightful interview subject too as she more than just talking about tennis matches and will take issues on that other won't.

I've always enjoyed watching her play, especially when she's on and I would have to say it's definitely her groundstrokes and her serve. She hits one of the cleanest hardest balls ever in women's tennis. You can even hear the difference if you listen to her strokes compared to the other players.
She also seems to be one of the nicest people on the tour. In retrospect maybe a little too nice to be consistently utterly ruthless, which is a helpful attribute for a tennis player to have. But even so she finished 4 years as the year end #1 and won 3 Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal in singles as well as holding the current record for the most tournament wins by an active player.
Too bad her movement was always her biggest weakness (although I have to say she improved it as much as it could be) or she would have many more Slam titles to her name.
