in retrospect, federer had a more pressure than nadal did in this match:
1- he wanted to capture his first grand slam title of 2008
2- he wanted to prove to his critics that he was not in the decline
3- he wanted to break bjorn borg's 5 consecutive wimbledon titles
nadal, on the other hand, had less pressure:
1- he wanted to beat federer to win wimbledon
in my opinion, it's tough to play 5 sets of tennis with so much pressure against a player who can exploit his weaknesses like nadal.
