Keeping left arm up during serve

My coach has often told me that I need to hold my tossing arm up longer when I serve. I just filmed a few quick serves in my backyard and realised that I am indeed dropping it much too early.

I know it sounds incredibly simple, which is why I feel like an idiot asking here - just hold it up longer, right? - but I'm really struggling with this. Any ideas?

Yes dude just hold it up longer lol, that's all there is to it. I don't think there's any magic solution to this. And its amazing to see yourself on vid vs what you thought you looked like. I thought I had a perfect game and then I look at the vid and im like "god I......suck!".

By the way, if there really is a trick with this then someone tell me. It just seems like a simple case of holding it up longer but I may very well be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

And this is not a dumb thread at all... Let's just say I've posted dumber ones and keep it at that:)

If you've ever thrown a baseball, you basically pull your glove hand downward and back as your throwing hand drives over the top and you get a little vertical rotation with one shoulder moving up and forward above the other. In that same sort of motion, you want to throw your racquet upward without actually letting go of it. Wait on letting the left arm drop until you need that rotation over the top with the right.

Imagine that you're reaching up to climb on a fence. When you've grabbed that fence, pretend to pull yourself up to the fence. I hope analogy might help you.
