Have anyone play with Pro Line II???

Yep, it is a great string, one of my favorites. I just can't justify the price in comparison with Big Ace and Cyber Flash, even though it may very well be a better string.
Definitely give it a try if you're considering it.

PL II is an excellent string IMHO. its what my school gives our team to string with and i really like it. while i cant compare it with BB alu power (never played alu, other strings are just as good for much less $$$), i can compare it to Pro Hurricane Tour.
i think that in terms of power and control the two are relatively equal. where the PL II exceded PHT for me was the softness. i think it is a substantially softer and more arm friendly string.
overall i'd say its well worth the money you'd spend to at least give it a test drive!!

great string. has just about everything. only shot i had trouble hitting was the flat, inside out forehand.

i love the proline 2 as well. it is one of the few Polys out there that provides everything. Power, Control, spin and tension maintanance.
Also try the new string Spiky shark as well. this string seem to last longer than other polys. and it provides some of the best spin and control i ever tried.

I guess I'm the only one who hated it... I usually use Cyberflash 17g, but I do like Cyberpower (which is softer then both Pro Line II and Cyberflash), but I couldn't get anything out of Pro Line II. It was really mushy and there wasn't any spin potential that I could find. Idk, I just didn't click with it at all... :-|

Maybe i get so much topspin from proline2 cause i use the 17 or sometimes 18 gauge ? but i get extreme topspin out of that string. Does cyberflash give you even more topspin ? it is hard to believe. what about control and power ?

been using pro line 2 1.15mm for a couple of years now. it's fantastic in all categories and if you buy the reel, the price per set goes from $12/set to about $9/set depending.
luxilon is great but lost my business for two reasons:
1. there's no difference in reel and set price, which is @##in highway robbery IMHO and
2. there's no gauge thinner than 1.3mm (other than TIMO series which is different i think and dead feeling); I like and need heavy bite, since i use spin-slice and top off both wings most of the time.
the fact that the string's red sucks and doesn't match my babolat adp, but i guess you could say im color blind when it comes to strings

I used the 17g of Pro Line II, and there was just nothing in it... Cyberflash has so much more spin and its a lot more controllable (due to it being stiffer, but it still has more feel, IMO). It just wasn't for me...

We really like the Kirschbaum line of string here also. PLII is a great string but it's dependent on tension. String it too tight and it doesn't perform as well. Once of the softest co-poly's we have worked with with great "FEEL" for a poly string.
If you don't like the red PLII then try the Spiky Shark (yellow) which is based on the PLII composition with a rough edge for more spin. This is my personal favorite in the Kirsch line and in all of my racquets now.

Cyberflash is stiffer (more spin and control) while Cyberpower is softer (lots of feel for a poly). If you want something different from Pro Line II, Cyberflash would be the way to go. And yes, it is a dream for S&Ving!

I like CF and directional control is excellent but it's not as "elastic" as alu or BBO and I find that it lacks that nice powerful "pop" of those 2.

guess you're right, PED; just saw it for my own eyes. . . but that price $15.75/set and $240something for the reel/wheel, get real.

^^I agree with you on the price of alu, the reel price is an insult. I think it works out to be 3% cheaper than the pack price. I got a great deal on a bunch of it last summer and I'm down to my last five packs......I don't know what I'm going to do.
I also love the BBO which in the 3 set mini reel works out to be only $10 a set. My Pres Pro is a 16X19 and the 1.30 works pretty well in that open pattern.
I'll let you know how I like the PL2 after tomorrow. My buddy loves the stuff so I'm looking forward to it.

I am continuing to try the Spiky shark. now in my 3rd week. It definitely plays more stiff than the Proline2. i am getting some major spin and slightly better control. but now it is becoming Mushy and i must cut it out. I get a better feel with Proline 2 for sure. I am trying to decide if spin and the control is worth sacrificing the feel of Proline2. >??

i did a great deal of experiementing w/ polys and copolys before i chose pro line II. overall, it is supersolid on every front and i like that i can get it nice and thin. i'm a leftie w/ ultra top when i top the ball and a lotta slice when i slice-sometimes a hit flat-and the string movement is minimal and tension maintenance is superb. Honestly, the multis and synth. guts i've used move all over the place and lose tension after 30 minutes. . .
pro line 2 is for real and affordable IMO

I've used the Pro Line in both hybrid and full. Cyberpower is better IMO, but you might as well try it out, I seem to be the odd man out... :-|

Guy, you were right, PL2 is really good stuff. I just had hit #1 with it at 55/52. I wish I'd gone up one more lb but the power and spin were very "ALU-like", and I really can't see paying the extra $$ for the lux.
Maybe this is just the honeymoon period, but I know what fresh alu feels like and this is right up there
I wish it were a few bucks cheaper but it's really solid.

I don't think it's a honeymoon thing. I've been playing with it since last May or June. Still constantly trying stuff out but each time I come back to PLII it's like...man, why do I even waste my money trying so many strings?
First of all, I didn't think my post would go this far but Thanks for the comments from you guys and I DEFINITELY buy PLII after my hybrid set break (PS big ace/ Xcel). And I will buy a new shoes just for the spring season.

I think you will find that the performance of PLII pretty much destroys big ace...
To each his own. I think Big Ace is much better than PLII.

Just out of curiosity, in what way? I tried to like big ace many times and finally gave up.
The Big Ace I am referring to is Big Ace Micro.
It was superior to PLII in spin generation, comfort, tension retention, and overall playability.
Big Ace Micro also does better on my stringer. A half set of PLII snapped on my drop-weight machine.

I like PL II, but it does die fast. So I switched to BA and am very happy.

i'm not surprised to read about people very satisfied w/ pl2 and i'm honestly not surprised to read posts praising big ace or cyberpower or cyberflash; they must be decent alternatives, if not even more suitable to some. I've never tried big ace, cyberflash, or cyberpower, but i'd like to for two reasons:
1. they're cheaper
2. tension maintenance on the pl2 is solid to me but all other things being equal (comfort, spin generation, feel, string movement, power, bite,etc.), if the tension maintenance is better in big ace or the cybers, i'd be interested in trying them out. i admit that sometimes my tension in pl2 does go down faster than i'd like. Incidentally, maybe that's a kirshbaum flaw: rapid tension loss . . .b/c i used supersmash honey for a while due to its enormous I mean downright sick spin potential, but tension maintenance was horrible, so not worth i, despite the low price.
right this second, i'm going through trying to decide if i'm gonna increase my tension from 54 to 55 on my new apdc's. i have both old and new but am transitioning to the new. i'm finding that the apdc packs more punch and offers more spin explosion, but is a bit wilder, which is why i'd like to go up a lb. I've read posts saying that apdc string tension may need to be a tad higher than original apd. any thoughts?

I've hit with my pl2 a few more times and the song remains the same: this stuff is really good. I've played with BA alot myself and have to think that it boils down to personal preference. I find the spin is much better in the PL2 and it produces a nice heavy ball with the 1.25mm size, but I also will go on record as saying that I don't like thinner (sub 1.20mm) strings so I'm probably biased.
