Yes, fans paid for 2 matches. so they should get 2 matches Not 1. but sometimes the pros really get lazy and doen't go all out.

My name is spelled with 2 BB'S and 2 T's, if you're going to address someone with anger spell their names right.
Thanks to those that answered.
Oh and excuse me I didn't criticise those that expressed their opinions about how Serbia should win. You must have me confused. :?
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFL, to the 33.33% that thought Serbia would go through. Come on now.
No IM NOT CONFUSED...
and as far as misspeling your name: like i give a damn...
as for the bolded part, knowing who Nadal dates, what nadal eats, what is the best angle for nadal's buttocks etc etc doesnt count!
now go hit the courts, play some tennis, get some info on the hystory and rules of the sport, and come back! this applies to your buch too!
ps: Gorecki who is tired of ignorant fangirls!
you're right just because I don't have time to take part in long debates about tennis but choose to quickly browse, post picks about what you said means I know nothing about tennis.
And right again when me saying "ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFL, to the 33.33% that thought Serbia would go through. Come on now" was me criticizing those that gave thought about how Serbia should win, even though I hadn't actually read that whole thread yet. Yes Gorecki, you're right.

between posting here and doing things in real life I don't have time to get some books to learn about tennis just so I can come back here and prove to you that I am worthy of posting here because I know ALL about tennis.
You people are still going on about it? Well have a go at leubleu tennis too then. He doesn't know what a dead rubber is.
I'm sure out of all the arguments, bashing, wars, name calling that goes on in threads in this forum my random "rofl" was IMMENSELY offensive.
I'm done in this thread There's one thing I wasn't sure about, I asked and I got my answer. I didn't know you had to be a master in all areas of tennis
When the outcome has already been decided in a Davis Cup tie but they still play the last 1-2 matches. You can't change the overall result, so it's considered "dead."
I gotta ride with Babbette on this one.
Not that she's the most knowledgeable(I don't know her well enough to say so), but y'all got you're collective thongs in a bunch over "ROOOOOOLF at the 33.3%" comment?!?
Are you serious?? Sensitive thugs/ Y'all need hugs!!!

Ya gonna also to have ride with Babbette, 380 brings up a big point. Tons of time you hear people say things like that or say way more offensive things. She said ROFL? You could simply pass it up and be like sore winner and move on. Its not she was like all people who voted serbia to win are ignorant twats and are ****ing idiots. She said ROFL....
What is wrong with you? Why don't you just answer her question instead of having a fit of superiority complex? And no matter what the use of the dead rubber is, its validity can still be discussed. The forum is also open to all tennis afficionados, casual or otherwise and they all deserve respect regardless of how much they know about the sport or which players they prefer, noone should ever fear getting bashed for whatever question they might have. Your reaction is frighteningly aggressive and hostile (and sexist ).No IM NOT CONFUSED...

And you're an admirable example of a jerk as I see it (find the bashing/insulting game fun? Get a taste of it yourself). The truth is she was 100% right. On clay and in Spain with Nadal in the team, Serbia was going to the slaughter house. They knew it, you knew it and everyone else knew it. They had to try and put up a brave front of course but their chances in those particular circumstances were very predictably lower than low. You can't face the naked truth? Too bad.You just don't get it. Yes, there is a lot of garbage in this forum. Your random comment is quite a remarkable example of it.
My point is that national pride can be a very powerful mass emotion. You see here all the time the ******** juvenile infatuation of people with some players and how they get all bent out when their idols are criticized. Nationalism can be very irrational but its almost religious fervor can be understandable. Some people breed their country. I have an Argentinian friend who is prohibited from watching a Brazil-Argentina football game for medical reasons. Maybe you guys can't relate to sports nationalism in such a way (i don't know where your are from) but it can be very powerful.
I don't know much about Serbia. My intuition tells me that Spain on clay was favored to win by as much a 90% probability. Maybe the poll high percentage of Serbia supporters was due to Serbians. I don't know, maybe they don't care much about Davis Cup. All I know, is that when it comes national pride is better to be measured. At least that's what I do. I thought it was a tasteless post, but hey, it's just my opinion and my sensitivities here never hurt on anything of the sort.
I am pretty nationalistic, I am American and still root America a lot. Even though I don't like Roddick I still find myself rooting for him. I always rooted Sampras and Agassi even though Agassi is not to my taste, same goes for other sports. I rooted for America in the world cup and you know the amount of trash talking comes from those nationalist groups. They bash other nations to if the Serbians had beat the Spanish you know the amount of HAHA all those Spanish fans who were convinced Spain would cakewalk would have been around. Face it, it happens. The ammount of times I got laughed at for hoping the American team would win a couple games and make a world cup run. Same time I did not get bothered by it because we are all fans. Fans get cocky when their player is on top and take cheap stabs at those beneath them at fans. All fans do it, so really her comment might have been arrogant and slightly mean, but at the same time people on the other side would have done it to and if you believe otherwise then you obviously do not read the forums much. Fed fans all cocky when Fed is on top laughing at Nadal dreams of winning wimbledon, now it is flipped. Its a cycle.

i agree, dead rubbers are no good....especially when you come to find out your teen girlfriend is pregnant BUUUHH-ZING!
I think you're corelating natiolism and opinion on sports as one. She said ROOOOLF at 33.3% who thought Serbia had a chance. I don't think it had anything to do with countries, nationalism or pride or anything like that. I mean Nadal has never lost a 5 set match on clay in his life so thats as close to an automatic 2 on clay.
When the original Dream Team (or anyone that followed) playe, and you said (fill in the blank) was going to beat them I would have laughed in your face as well. It has nothing to do with nationlism etc., I just don't think they have a chance.
If we had a pole of who was going to the 2009 French Open Nadal or The Field and 33.3% said The Field and she made that same comment, would that be taken as a slight to all the other natoins that have players in the French Open??
I see much worse things said here, and for people to get on that little comment is carzy to me. At the end of the day it's just her opinion. Hell as Sampras fan I had something to say whe all those so called pundits said Agassi woud get the better of him at 1995 US Open, 1999 Wimbledon and 2002 US Open. I certainly would have liked to what they were thinking
Thanks. Sounds like a poor situation for both the audience and the players. What if a player got hurt during this last series? When the outcome has already been decided in a Davis Cup tie but they still play the last 1-2 matches. You can't change the overall result, so it's considered "dead."
