Make another prediction for the final. The comparison is interesting, because the 2 guys have similar games, and both have a very poor H2H against Federer. Both are playing much better this year, and both have come up short against him nevertheless.

At FO, DP took Fed to 5 sets, while Fed handled Soderling in 3 in the finals.

Here, Soderling got going and took Fed to a pretty tight 4 sets in the end. Will Del Potro fair better against Federer here, or will he be dominated in the final, just as Soderling was at the FO?

DP will do better, but I doubt he has the stamina to outlast Fed in a best of 5. If this goes the distance, I don't see DP keeping a high level of serving.

I think the occasion might get to Del Potro's head. But still, I think Del Potro goes for the lines a lot less than Soderling, his game revolves more around consistent, hard shots, but he doesn't take as many risks as Soderling does. He usually doesn't make a lot of UE. In the end, I think the key will be just how good Del Potro will be when it's a clutch situation. He also served great against Nadal, so we'll see if he can repeat that hear. So yeah, I expect him to do better than Soderling did at the French. All that said, I still expect Fed to win it in 4.

It will be really hard for DelP do do worse, if he even shows up.

Soderling is VP of the Fedulation Society.

Fed is a great player in a weak era: 16, 17, 18 slams and counting . . .

It wouldn't surprise me if Delpo won today. He's playing extremely well, and you get the sense that he's a legit talent. With Robin Soderling, you knew he caught a rogue wave and rode it as long as he could.

Yea I think Del Potro might win in 5 sets because he's gained experience from that ass whooping in Australia and the 5 set match he played at the French. Del Potro's serve improved a lot, and we all know his ground game is solid. If he is in good shape physically and could hang with Federer for 5 sets, he has a great chance.

I think JMDP has a greater chance to finally beat Fed, he's been playing very well, he has all the tools to upset Fed, I honestly think that if he can bring his A-game and his mental toughness from the semi I think he can win this one.........If not I still think he will do better than the FO performance he showed where he looked spent late in the game.........

i think only one person didn't really crack physically against roger (besides nadal) in a 5 set match was roddick. Yes, DP pushed ******** to 5 on fed's worst surface but the i can't see delpo doing anything, hard to tell though.

You have to be joking. Roddick performed the biggest choke Job that I remember seeing.Roddick had the match won but he choked the tie breaker away(3rd set I think) after he had a huge lead and had it won. He made some easy clumsy mistakes, if he didn't choke he would have won in 4.
