the stupidity of the mass fans.
If you follow sports for just a few years, you notice a phenomena.
Fans always over-react to the win/loss results. During the American football season, if the team wins 20-19 on Sunday, the whole week will hear fans pounding their chest and counting the teams playoff/super bowl scenarios... but if the team loses 19-20, the tones, you can imagine, are completely opposite. topics will include coaches/players inability to execute, free agent possibilities, quarter back contraversies and so on.
While in reality, there are lots of randomness in sports. Take football for example, a fumbled ball bounces randomly on the ground and call fall into anybody's laps. The field goal kick may just catch a gust and miss the upright by an inch.
Now look at this board - we have the same phenomena going on here. Player wins, all is dandy, GOAT talks, future number 1's, winning the next calendar slams, winning 10 more slams by the end of career and so on. Player loses, all is gloomy, retirement talks, loss excuses, question on motivations, technical/ tactical issues, talks of switching to 2hbh.
while in reality, a pass shot (including that one yesterday) could have caught a gust and just made or miss the sideline by 0.1mm, in the modern game when players are going for the lines so much, there are numerous occassions that a match can swing either way.
A lot of the results we see are indeed due to the butterfly effects and randomness in sports is commonplace. So stop being one of the lemmings, one of the mass, one of the sheeple.... Use thy brain, observe, and strive for sound conclusions.... it will do your mind good.
