Heheh. The tour (imo) is on the better side. It's a bit stiffer than the regular PHT. (sadly it doesn't come in blue... only yellow) Spin potential on it is great though.
As for upper side of poly? Check out some of the co-polys. I used to love the stuff but PH/PHT tends to go dead pretty quickly and can be a bit harsher towards the end of playing life. Signum makes and just recently came out with some pretty nice stuff. MSV makes a really great poly (one of my favorites). Kirshbaum Super Smash Spiky was ok as a main in the Hybrix spin (the SINGLE and only multi combo I've ever liked). They make Spikyshark which is pretty similar to PHT just much more textured (pain to string). Currently though, Alu Rough is on the priority end of my testing list. Recoil impressed me a bit too...just not the price

First time I used PHT/VS was one of those "tennis epiphany" moments. I had been using plain ol Gamma synthetic my entire tennis playing days (so 20 years or so), and then decided to try this whole "gut poly hybrid zazz hype" and after one match of ripping the felt off the balls I was converted.
Problem was the PHT lost it's hypnotic spell upon me after two matches or so. I also realized I couldn't afford this particular hybrid. I've been searching for cheap alternatives ever since. Now I'm on a rollercoaster of playtesting insanity that has turned me from casual junkballer to "tt equipment junkie".
The best so far, for me, for my game, for my tastes, that has come close to the first moments of tennis illumination that was bestowed upon me by PHT/VS has actually been a full bed of MSV hex 1.18 -- a very elastic, control oriented poly that is 1/4 the price of the OP hybrid. Plus it has solid tension maintenance and lasted 4 times longer than PHT. So, 1/4 the price and 4 times the longevity = 8 times better? Not exactly, but it's satisfied my wallet, arm, and sanity.

Yearp. It's happened. Then I feel like a doof for wanting to cut out a 26.00 stringing job.
I was stupid enough to teach with one of these frames hitting about 400 serves to students... It blew-chunks... plus my strings were garbage after. The VS was fine, PHT was goooone

how is your msv / vs hybrid working out for you? which msv string are you using and in what guage? do that combo last (aka doesn't go dead) fairly long?

OP: Are you using the Pro Hurricane or the Pro Hurricane TOUR with the VS natural gut?
I use the 18 Pro Hurricane (main) and a 18g Natural Gut from Klip Cross in my KPS88's and LOVE the combo. I get a soft feel from this poly which compliments my S&V/doubles game and I get the added durability of the poly. Granted there are polys that are longer lasting, but I feel the softness of the 18g Pro Hurricane helps my game more than I am worried about having to string it often. Always a trade off.
I like to experiment with strings, but i always come back to this set-up if i have a tournament. I just like the way it feels and plays.

I'm using the Pro Hurricane TOUR VS natrual gut. I have never hit with natural gut before. I love the way the ball feels coming off the strings. It seems as if I'm able to get a bit more spin on my balls. So now I can swing a bit more freely and not worry about my balls landing just out. I'll try some more now as I'm interested in how these other hybrids feel. I just need to figure out which ones I'll try next.

I somehow think I won't have to worry about cutting out this string job. Just looking at how frayed the strings are after one hitting session; I have doubts they'll last much longer. I could be wrong, we'll see.
