Prince gut-who makes it?

I just got some 16' Prince gut. The package and the gut itself looks like repackaged VS. Anyone have any knowledge or experience with this stuff?

Doesn't Babolat make pretty much all gut and sells it to other companys? I know they do that for Wilson except they don't make it as good as VS.

^No. AFAIK, Head gut is rebranded Pacific. Prince, I think, used to be rebranded bow brand. And Klip makes gut for somebody too.

Prince gut used to be BDE, but is now Babolat. AFAIK its never been Bow Brand. If you have Prince gut in either see-thru plastic package, or the old gut foil type pack then it'll be BDE. If its the newer Prince packaging then it'll be Babolat. Head also used to be BDE before the change.

Has BDE exited the string business for racquets? Just noticed they do not have a link on TW as in the past.

The prince Gut I received was in a green prince foil pack. My stringer thought it was BDE, not VS. I played it yesterday and it was great. I strung it in my BB 11 mid at 64# and it had plenty of pop and bite. Great comfort.

If its the old, virtually all green packet then it'll be BDE

If it's made in France, it's Bab

BDE is/was made in France.

I played a match last night. This string is very powerful. Even at 64# in a BB 11 mid, I was struggling to keep the ball in the court. Great for serves and volleys. I need to spend more time hitting groundies. For $39.00 a pack I don't want to just cut it out. I could go up to 66# without issue if the string holds up.
