mine's a cross between eastern and semi-western.
it's the only one that makes senseThere's nothing else like the semi-western grip for me. Spin friendly and can be flattened for an easy putaway
Full western on my fh, love the control of the spin! Really allows me to safely get a ton of clearance so my shots can be struck very hard yet be very consistant and i can easily take the pace off and pull a nice little angle.
semi western. I wanna go back to eastern so badly...
I use an Eastern grip. Driving a ball is just so satisfying.
Tell me, how you hit with full western? very out in front? racket face almost perpendicular at contacting? Hit up using biceps as main driving muscles?
I never arm the ball unless im forced to. I always rotate basically uncoiling into my shots using my legs, hips, core, shoulder, and arm muscles in every single shot. As for my contact point, i like to keep it out in front.
That's all the general stuffs that every grip does. I was hoping if you could tell me anything one does differently with the western grip.
I just moved away from s-w or maybe eastern/s-w. My swing path + the way my arm & palm pronate into the shot is just too open with that grip and cause the shot to go long a lot. I believe I'm using Nadal version of s-w grip at this point. The strongest part of the palm is fully behind the 6th bevel now (lefty), and I swing up in the frishbee throwing motion.
