I know a guy who puts popsicle sticks on his grips to force him to use eastern.

I think I'll try that my next match.

haha, eastern to a western? It will be a BIG change, a bigger change then you can ever imagine

. First of all, your contact point will be out in front by a LOT more, and you will need a lot more racquet headspeed to be able to hit a proper western forehand. My suggestion, switch to a semi-western. It will feel a bit different then what you're use to with a eastern grip, but its much better then a western.

Don't worry, I dumped my coach immedietly when he mixed up his grips. He started with continental, then semi-western and western. He didn't show me the ACTUAL western grip either.

Surprising find!

My favorite overgrip.
Easton grip-actually people use it for baseball bats. It's cheaper than regular 'tennis' grips but I found I like it best. Good durability, tackiness (but not too tacky), not too soft not too hard. Perfect! And it costs only 3.99 or less.

SuDan - KickServer's suggestion might work, but I have another creative one. In our area the Eastern Grips are so unpopular you can find them on the Clearance Rack. Just apply it three facets to the right, and you have an inexpensive Western. (Ta-da!)

(The only problem will be when spinning for serve. Instead of "M" or "W" it's "E" or "3"....)

Yes indeed... I'm Rickson and I would like to confess more. I always hit my 2nd serve underhand. And when I'm serving for a match I get so nervous I hit my 1st serve underhand too. And that's not all... I like wearing those t-shirts with holes in the back.

OMG!!! Today I lost to an 8 year old girl and she wasn't even left handed!!! I have been using semi western grip and it sucks. Now I know it's not a grip like East on( thanks everybody). Should I continue using semiwestern or switch back to continental or even to full western?
