Barricade 7s

I recently played in a tournament and the tournament director was wearing them. He told me they were wider and more comfy than the 6.

ehhh..doesn't look that great. I'm pretty sure if Adidas decided to package a box filled with feces and call it Barricade (insert roman numeral value here), people would still buy it and say it looks awesome. Don't get me wrong, I've been Barricading for 2 years now, but the 7's better be extraordinarily comfy or durable or else I be lookin' at Nike

Is it me, or was this quicker-than-usual between revs? Was the B6 considered a flop?

I was thinking the same thing...seemed like the 5's were around forever. I like the 6's much better than the 5's but these new 7's look like a big step up.

Thanks Jason! Did you get to try them on? I hope so as it sounds like we have similar feet based on your choice of shoes and reviews. Are these any wider than the 6's?

I haven't. We got shipped a pair that just so happened to be in Chris' size. We will be doing a team review once we get some more pairs in. I'll let you know about the fit once I get a chance to put them on.

Wonder how much they will cost on TW Europe as the B6 was 130€.

Can they really sell the B7 for as much as 140?

These seem like a big improvement. According to Chris they are lighter, have better ventilation, a faster break-in time, and more comfy. I'm really excited about these shoes.

Excellent! Thanks! I'm going to have to give this a try on as well. I want the characteristics of the Barricade, but the VI's we just so darn uncomfortable.

That Chris Review was excellent, he mentioned everything I was wondering myself.

I'm glad that B7 are easy to break in, breathable; I would love to see them in black/yellow combination.

BTW he didn't act like a gentleman with the girl across the net, a couple of shots were winners.

How does the weight and ankle support differ from the 6.0?

I think i heard that the 7s are 5-10% lighter than the VI. Is this true?

Also, is the ankle support more lik the V or VI?
I am currently wearing the V and have tried the VI but didn't lik the change in ankle support.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but it also seems to have to lace-throughs in the tongue, presumably to avoid the well-know tongue-slipping that plagued B6ers in every nation

One other thing, just wonder if Murray's gonna stick with his trusty pj'd Vs on Monday or go with these shoes that "he helped develop"...!

My guess is the former :|

Never been a huge Barricade guy - not liking the blocky feeling and, mostly, being the owner of some too-wide feet for both Adidas and Nike - but these shoes are pretty sweet looking. Really like the design.

I wonder if Murray will be like Federer in the way that he will be wearing the same shoes for several years in different colorways.

I also love how they showed the bottom of the shoe after a month. You guys should do this on every review so we can get a good feel on just how durable it is. Keep doing that!

Semms to be that I'm speaking for a minority here... My feet LOVE the B6!

Based on TW review of the 7; it is suppose to fit like the 6; and I hated the feel and look; so I going past on this 7. It has that wedge where you bend your foot and I do not like that look either.

Very disappointed. I will look for 4s,5s to buy; but will probably stick with K-Swiss until Adidas goes back to the normal foot design of the Barricade line and not continue on with the 6s. :(

Ugh!

Don't know if anyone's noticed but it seems like the Adituff area has been decreased to just small section, will this decrease durability on the inside toe area?

Did not like the fit of barricade 6. Judging by how hard it is to find my favorite barricade 4, others must have liked these very much.

Thanks Mate! Yep...my local shop had them delivered yesterday. Haven't worn them on court yet but they feel very comfortable. Only slight dissapointment is the tongue (a little bulky). The shoe also comes with"myCoach" area under the insole. http://www.adidas.com/us/micoach/

Speaking of the insole...there is a slight rise in the forefoot (almost feels like a bubble). Its a different feel than teh B6 but overall the width and length are similar.

I just picked the same exact B7 shoes today from a local store. Breaking it in around the house before taking to the courts tomorrow/weekend. The first thing that hit me was how comfortable it feels compared to the B6. Feels wider although the box did not say whether it is a medium width vs the past narrower Barricades, or the CourtBallistec shoes for that matter. This is a keeper.
