Tretorns Tennis Balls

has anyone used these balls , I've heard that they can last for months,

what I'm wondering are, how do they play e.g comparable to other brand ball in spin, durability, power, feel?
are they good to use outdoor?
around how long they lasted you outdoor?
which ones of there lines would you recommend?

I really think these balls are worth it they are perfect to feed from a ball machine. They lasted me two years and then got dirty so I got new ones. They have great durability and spin. Compared to other brands they had the same bounce but kept it for longer. I have had many lines and liked them all.

I presume you mean Tretorn (translates to "three towers" from SWE to English) Pressureless balls. They have two types; Micro X, a foamfilled ball that feels like a hybrid between a pressurized and pressureless ball. Pretty hard feeling but decent enough in ball machines etc

Then they have ball called Tretorn Plus. A pure pressureless ball. Very hard, solid feel and a nice sound on impact. Not good for players with any kind of TE-problems...

Tretorn also makes two great pressurized balls. Tretorn Series + (control) the officiall ball of the higher (+100.000 $) ATP Challenger-series. Pretty hard, reminds me a bit of Dunlop Fort. Pretty heave and last way longer then Wilson US Open for example.

Then they also makes a ball call Stockholm Open, (they dont use that ball in the tournament though,,,)
A softer ball, that plays very very slow. One of the slowest balls on the market actually. It "fluffs" up very fast on hardcourt and looks like a big guinea-pig after an hours play...

Tretorn tennis balls are very good. At the club I play and other clubs near my club use them for years. Tretorn plus is the best in my opinion. I heard also good thinks about Micro X. Other tretorn balls get soft fast. In May I played a tournament where they used Tretorn balls and they we're soft before I even played with it. If you want really durable balls, try Technifibre coach!

how many balls lasted you 2 years?

are they just good for ball machine hitting, as where i play indoors thats what alot of people being trained up, use it for machine ball hitting?
as i generally play outdoors in UK only indoors if weather too cold/windy,

i generally play matches but only play 1 a week

You must use your ball machine once a month....for two years. Give me a break! I got 4 months out of the Penn, used 3-4 times a week.

I am still on my first bucket of Tretorn Micro X, and it's been 1.5 years now.

I just tried the new Tretorn Micro X and it just felt like hitting a rock, felt so hard on the elbow. And I am afraid I am going to re-injure my elbow (I just almost heal from a serious tennis elbow). Is it gonna get softer over time?

Balls last me 2 sets then they just feel soft, so the Tretorn X is a good choice if you want the playability to be the same throughout a match. However, they are hard. The good news is that if you set up your racket right, lots of lead and M2 strings, you can blow your opponent away.

The series + feel soft to me, but the pressure doesn't leak so if you don't mind a low bounce, they are worth a try. At least you can play 2 days in a row and the balls are ok for knocking.

I see there is a new softer version of the X ball, which might be perfect.

2 sets, how hard can you lot hit the ball?, i can play with most brands up to 3-4 weeks, thats 1 can, before i open a new one , but i do like low balls, im a flat hitter

I have been using Micro X for 2 years on a ball machine. The first time I bought the 100 balls pack 2 years ago and I still have around 60 balls left. I burst about 20 of them and some just got loss. About a year ago, I bought another 100 two tone colors. That batch is a lot more durable. I haven't burst any of them.

I just the ball machine about 1-2 times a week, 2 hours each time. It is harder than regular tennis balls of course but you can't beat the bounce. The old balls still bounce like new. I never have elbow problem hitting with them. But they are only good for ball machine, I don't recommend for normal tennis play.

Open one day, throw away the next.

I won some kind of device for keeping the pressure in balls, came in 2 halves which screwed together. The company who made them sponsored the tournament. Seemed a good idea, but I can't have been impressed as I have lost/thrown them away.

I suppose you can always keep a soft one in your pocket for throwing in a soft serve on match point, so the ball bounces twice before the service line.
