Can Djokovic catch Nadal before Nadal can catch Federer?

Slam counts:

Djokovic - 4 Slams
Nadal - 10 Slams
Federer -16 Slams

Djokovic is younger than Nadal and has only reached his prime. Nadal has reached his prime and is either still in his prime or is on a decline. Remains to be seen. Federer is past his best but still experienced enough to crash the party.

Who will catch who first?

This thread will be bumped at the end of every season to see who is closer to whom.:)

I'll say neither of them catch up to the next guy.

I second that. I don't think Djokovic will catch Nadal or that Nadal will catch Federer. I mean anything is possible but that is my thought process right now.
May change depending on next year's results.

Neither of them catches up.

Federer ends up with 17.
Nadal ends up with 13.
Djokovic ends up with 9.

Gap between each reduced to 4 (from 6 at present)

Federe catches Sampras's 287 weeks

Nadal catches Xisca and gets married

Nole catches Mono and lose #1 ranking

Out of these predictions I think this is the most unlikely lol

Don't know, it feels like Rafito is getting quite bored of Xisca these days. The Lynn Barber interview was quite strange... didn't sound like someone very enamored with his girlfriend. :-?

Yeah... I cant imagine Rafa as a father yet. I doubt he marries before he retires.
He is still mama's boy. Not much into any girl as a wife.

Lopez though, is another story. :)

Nadal makes 18, Fed stays at 16, Djoko edges fights to 7. (4-5 years from now)

She was intruding on his private life. He was having none of it. And Xisca was at the WTF with Nadal's parents, cheering him on. She's a good catch actually. From what I've read, she's not interested in shopping and spending her man's money on material crap like most girls do. She's low key and works and makes her own living and is also university-educated.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. But still, it left things quite unclear as to exactly how they stand. That whole story was quite a jab to their PR.

I have the thinking that Nadal and Xisca's relationship was something very supported from Nadal's family early on not only because of the their families being close but to make clear from the start when Nadal was entering the scene as a teenager that he's already engaged, as to avoid any potential problems with girls or womans that could stray him from a successful career.

They look more like friends next to each other than a couple, really.

Nah, you haven't seen their more personal pics on the beach.:) Unless it's a front which is a possibility. But it seems like they're tight. Lynn Barber was just astonished at the fact that Nadal sees so little of his girlfriend Xisca during the season so Lynn was left wondering how a young man with raging hormones manages to satisfy his sexual appetite if his woman isn't around?
Answer that one!:p A cool porn stash maybe? Or did Uncle Toni rob Nadal of his manhood and he has no appetite left for anything?

Well, there is always Pico in the locker room when things get rough...
*inserts pics of Nadal pinching Monaco's ass*

Haha, just kidding.

Sorry for derailing your thread though. Hopefully Fed will widen his gap this year to close out any possibility of Nadal catching up.

Then it will all fall on Joker's hand to catch up to Rafito's slam count.
At this pace he certainly will.

Yeah, I hope Fred widens the gap. ;)

I would not be too surprised if that's how it looks at the end.

However, I'd love to see a 17 !

I'd love to see Fed end up on top, which is still posssible. But I feel Nadal has enough left to dominate this current field (minus another great Djoker year). Questions are can Tsonga, JMDP, or Murray slip in there and steal a couple? This will be THE changing-defininfing-prophetic season for the next window.

This kinda reminds me of my story(a true rafa fan always imitates his idol)..but there are many ways to fulfill sexual desire..1st of all we can do 'HOT CHAT"on number such as 1800********..2ndly pay 50 bugs for one night and lastly but not the least use our right or left hand in a productive way..Allthough i prefer right hand.:).

He's too inconsistent on hard courts to dominate the field for any great length of time. He's going to need to rack up the French Opens and Wimbledons to do it.

Rafa and Lopez are both fruitcakes. Don't see either one being fathers as they both appear to like dudes.

 I'm sure Nadal gets his on the side, people. I cannot believe people would actually believe he is practically a celibate monk or something because Xisca isn't around that much. And judging by the stories I have heard about him he goes out and gets it whenever he wants,Xisca or no Xisca.

I'd also like him to erase that 287 weeks or whatever it was that Petey still has.

My bet is Nadal is still the big V

cmon guys no one in the world is perfect..remeber what happened to tiger woods..everyone thought of him as a great role model..then suddenly his smooth sailing boat sank when all his infidelity scams came in lime light.I am not trying to draw any conclusions between him and rafa.In a simple way i am just try to say that neither me or you are saint and we all have our share of secrets which may/will go with us in our grave..

I just said Nadal WAS a saint indirectly.

No question about that. I don't know if Nadal likes men or women but I can pretty much guarantee he is not alone in his hotel room playing video games all the time while Xisca is thousands of miles away.
To me that whole relationship with Xisca seems like a PR thing more than anything else.

I doubt either will catch the other. Nadal already is weaker than he had been the last previous several years so will be hard pressed to win 6 or 7 more slams, even if there is a good chance Federer never wins another one. Djokovic is going strong now but Nadal will probably still win atleast another 2 slams, and Djokovic with his playing style is going to break down physically before he wins another 8 or 9. Then again the up and comers are super weak, Murray is still slamless, Del Potro remains a question mark, so who knows.

The direction Nadal's game and mindset are going now are definitely not towards regaining dominance. Things can change quickly in this sport though.

Djokovic won't break down physically for another few years.
Just when you think he's looking like he's down and out, he comes back stronger. Nobody fades at 24, much to the dismay of the Djokovic hate-groups.

Either way I dont see Nadal going slamless the rest of his career, and I dont see Djokovic winning anymore than maybe 9 or 10 slams. It seems most people in this thread have the same consensus, that the order of the three mentioned parties will remain the same.

I think those are pretty good estimates at this point to be honest.

I don't think he seems all that into Xisca, either. She also looks way more interested in him than he is in her in pictures of them together. It's weird how he gets offended if she is even brought up,and absolutely hates to talk about her at all. Even basic questions about her are met with hostility from him. For years people hardly ever saw her,and she said in his book that she doesn't even talk about him to her own family. It's like she's under contract or something, and is not allowed to even mention him to others. They're bizarre as a couple no doubt about that.

And I agree that he isn't sitting alone in his hotel room twiddling his thumbs. There are way too many stories about how he does his thing regardless if Xisca is there or not. There was one from Miami this year that I heard about, and one from Cordoba that I heard about as well. That's just a few of the ones that I have heard just this year, and I am sure there are many others that we don't know about as well.

Why not Noel catches up with Federer ?

Only 12 slams to go, right ? At 3 a year, that's 4 years. He's what 24 or 25. So that's till 29 or 30.

Yeah, a bit tough, but would be great if he could at least go past 10.

Neither will happen.

Federer 17 or 18
Nadal 11 or 12
Djokovic 8 or 9

I think 2012 will be a very telling season. Nadal had an awesome 2010 and a good 2011. Djokovic had a good 2010 and an amazing 2011. Fed has been ok during both, but still hanging around. Thus far, it seems like Nadal and Djokovic have trouble sustaining such a high level for a season, much less throughout a couple seasons.

If Nadal and Djokovic come back in 2012 and dominate again, they might have a chance at catching up.
