KSix One 95 16x18 vs BLX Six One 95 16x18

I need to get a few backups for my six one 95 blx's that i have. I noticed the price on the k factor version is really cheap and would rather pay that than $150 or get the new version for $199.

I was wondering if their are any big differences between the K Factor version and the BLX version. The only thing i have against my BLX's is that the feel is more dampened than i would like.

I use RPM Blast 17g @ 57 lbs. Its my favorite string and I dont plan on switching.

It's stiffer, swings a bit heavier and has a more 'raw' feel to it compared to the muted BLX. Not much more to it than that; in the long run, the BLX is more user friendly especially on your arm.

Just on a side note, if you open up your scope a little, the Bio 200 Tour plays like a better version of the Wilson 95's. It's got more control, similar power and spin potential, better for volleys and larger sweet spot with a uniform string bed. Generally an all round better frame and the weight and sw are very close to the W95's; in fact, the K95 is heavier than the Bio 200T I have.

Similar but better than a Wilson 95? :shock: ... If this is all true - and it's also very solid and has good feel - all I can say is this must be one heck of an amazing frame.

I dont think it does. I played the dunlop tour and while it is definitley nice, it does not serve as big and just does takes more work to use over the course of a match. Also has nice spin, but not the massive spin you can get with the wilson.

I could easily see how someone could like it, but i preferred the regular dunlop 200 since it swung a little easier and had more of its own identity (flatter hitting, control stick).

I was a long time Wilson user (over 20 years) with the original PS 6.0.

When I got back into tennis, I figured I would stick with Wilson. But none of the current Wilsons had that "wonderful feel" of the original Pro Staff.

Much to my surprise, the smaller Dunlops (100, 200, 300) are heads above Wilson in the "feel" department.

SEconded! I use the Bio 300 Tour, fantastic feel. Thin beam. Now, to be fair, I haven't tried the new ProStaff 6.1.

Rackets are always going to be subjective and I should state it's of course my opinion.

Which version of the 200 Tour did you play with? I've not played with the 4D version but apparently that plays quite a bit heavier than the Bio and is a bit softer.

The Bio comes in at 358g and 7pts HL with an OG and dampner. I've not measured sw but it feels heavier than the BLX90 but lighter than the K95 - so I'm guessing somewhere between 335-345 on the sw (the K95 I have swings heavy at 12.7oz stock).

Overall, the Bio 200T just plays better in every category for me and not as demanding as the K95 (not a lot in it). If spin potential is less than the K95/BLX95, it's got to minimal, if at all. Looking at the frames side by side, the Bio has a marginally less open pattern but it's a softer frame, so you get a little more ball time.

I agree about the Dunlops. I just recently switched from the BLX 6.1 16x18 to the Bio 200T and have no regrets. The feel is just sooooo much better to me than the Wilsons. I have no problem producing the same power and spin as before. The only thing I did was put some putty behind the trap door to make it more head light. I've used 6.1's since high school and never thought I would switch but the 200T has made me a believer.

I used the 4d. The racquets just don't whip like the Wilsons, but there is no doubt Dunlops feel awesome. I would probably have thing weighted up too just to get the balance more HL.

I like a nice SW, but the other thing I did not like was the 340 plus SW combined with the heaviness. While that is awesome against a 3.5-4.0 player, once I hit with a 4.5 and up who can crush the ball, it robbed me of some timing.

Just so you guys know I really love dunlops and had the 4d200 for a year. So I definitely appreciate the feel of those sticks. The Wilson just has this magic to it that really grooves with my game and still gives me a ton of racquet head speed for weighing 12.5.

I am not sure how the Wilson can be as demanding to be honest. For me it was easier to use, and whips through contact so fast, but I hit semi/Western, with a lot of top so maybe that is why I prefer the Wilson, who knows.

Love the PJs of the 200s, love the feel. Lots to like..but I'd probably go back to a Pure storm tour if I was looking for a BLX replacement.

I know what you're saying with the heaviness but it's not the case with the Bio but it sounds like it was with the 4D.

Give the Bio a demo if you get a chance. Dunlop have defiantly made some mass adjustments with the Bio (although TW specs don't suggest that). The ones I have are 7pts HL and just as whippy as the W95's.

I may, but im really loving the wilson..i have switched racquets so much that I try and stay with one now as it helps my game a lot to use the same stick.

but if the stiffness ever got to me from the wilson, the dunlop is an obvious choice for a substitute.

Both are similar, the blx has more of a softer feel while the k series has more power. I wonder when the new wilson six one 95 blx 2012 versions are coming out, they're not posted on TW yet.
