Pro's Pro Vendetta

I do not post much in the strings section, but I had to post this! Just tried Pro's Pro Vendetta in my YTPP at 52#'s in a full bed. All I can say is WOW! After 2 hours of hard hitting, the strings have not moved at all. This string is as comfortable as any poly I have played. It produces just as much topspin as well. Surprisingly, there is good pocketing and feel (which I do not say often with polys). For $55, you can not beat this poly. I used to play Tour Bite, but that is a thing of the past as Vendetta is 1/3 the price. Got a couple other sets of Pro's Pro to try, but I think I have found my true love.

I've heard good things about Vendetta. I just switched from SPPP 1.28 to Plus Power1.28 as my basic hybrid main.
Ichiban Spin is very interesting as well. Can't wait to test it on my PHT lovers.

Limited distribution? Fear of 'no names'? No big advertising hype or pro endorsements?
You know as well as I do that Foster's is not the best Aussie beer.
PSGD is not the best syngut, but EVERYONE carries it and it's consistent.
I think a good string/beer speaks for itself and time will tell.
Word of mouth takes longer but the price stays down.
Unfortunately, there will always be those who believe more expensive always equals better.
L-tec, Gamma and Ytex are trying to sell to this group.
Tourna has made great strides in disproving this myth.

Im gonna get some Pros Pro from a particular shop in the UK. SO CHEAP mang. Its like 1/3 the price of tourna and if its any good, 3 reels incoming on multi, poly and syn, i can start my own stringing buisness for my schoolmates. $20 a full restring.

I'm using vendetta as well, and quite like it. However, I have to say I liked pro's pro plus power better. It's a bit softer and easier to string.

For the multis, I got Gut Power`1.30 and Gutex Ultra17
Also got a reel of Plus Power1.28 and some sets of Blackout and Ichiban Spin.

Pro's Pro Blackout is also a great string. Tons of spin and great feel too. Their racquets are good too, but the quality control is TERRIBLE!

I will second Blackout, its a really good string as good as any pentagonal string on the market. Needs to be strung low tho....

If you like twisty strings then hexaspin twist is imo better than Barb Wire as it lasts longer.

Lethal 5 looks and feels like bhsr, Ive got more there to test and as I string for a number of players at my club its a great option at £30 a reel !!

Do you not find that Blackout goes dead super quick? After about 2 hours with it, its lost all its zap. It's like all the goodness has been squeezed out of it and you're back to playing with a borderline dead poly. I also find it a bit brtittle and plasticky.

I don't doubt that Vendetta might be good (initially at least), but no matter how cheap it is, its still going to be pain restringing with such frequency.

That's the main thing that's stopping me from jumping onto the Pro's Pro's bandwagon - there doesn't seem to be much perfomance longevity.

Currently using Vendetta mains and Intense Heat crosses and I like the set up a lot. Vendetta feels very soft to me (for a poly).

Dont know about Blackout as I have not hit it yet, but I've been playing Vendetta for 5 hours with no tension loss or drop off in performance.

Every poly has tension loss and drop off in performance over 5 hours. That's the nature of polyester. You bash it repeatedly hundreds and hundreds of times and it aint going to the same as when it was at hour zero.

If it has lost tension, it is not much relative to other polys. The strings still are not moving around like other polys I have used. The spin and power I am getting is almost the same as well. I am a 4.5, but you may play at a higher level than I do so you may hit harder as well.

I don't mind stringing once a week, thats if i have a machine, i would string once a week saturday/sunday night.

The Vendetta is super soft poly which is generally very soft on the arm, Tension loss is only small and the strings do not move! A very popular choice for players that wish to have a cheap good quality string.. Lethal 5 is an excellent string, great spin potential with it having 5 sides + a twisted texture!!!

As others have mentioned, Pro's Pro is cheaper but in my opinion you get some very good strings for the price, Can't really say that i noticed a masisve drop in tension in any of the Pro's pro range - but of course you are going to get some like you will with every string out there! If you hitting the ball hard tension will drop

Couldn't agree more with you on Vendetta, it IS very soft and goes well with my Prestige Pro being a little stiffer. How soft is the Lethal 5 compared to the Vendetta?

You're slightly biased though, for reasons which I won't mention!

The frustrating thing with Pro's Pro's is that they don't distinguish enough between their different strings. There are a million different polys, all more or less described in the same way, all more or less at the same price, and all more or less do the same thing. I tried Blackout and thought it played alright in the first 2-3 hours but performance didn't last.

^^ When you have 15+ polys, the differences between them will be more subtle. If Tourna or Solinco added 10 more polys to their lines, how different do you think each will play?

I really enjoy Pro's Pro Blackout. It is very similar to Tecnifibre Black Code. It gets a lot of spin and good power. Its not as soft as MSV Focus Hex or RPM, but its not stiff, just crisp. I use it for singles and it is quite durable and has decent tension maintenance.

Can't comment on Solinco because I haven't played with enough of them.

With Tourna though, each string is distinct and different to the next. That's exactly what you want.

BHBR is very different to BHSR, and both are very different to BHB7. BHB/BHS are different still, more like prototypes to the shaped/twisted strings. But at least they're all different. They all offer different things to suit different players and requirements.

Don't see why any company needs 10+ polys in their poly lines. Tourna certainly don't.

BigT, I have a Prince Exo Tour 16x18 and want to do a hibrid string job with Pro´s Pro strings. My wish is to use multi mains and poly crosses for the confort. I saw that you tested a lot of strings with this setup. Which strings of Pro´s Pro do you recommend? Vendetta?
Thanks!

^^You want to know about the multis or polys? Or both?

Both.
I have been using Rip Control 1.30 mains and Mamba O Power 1.23 crosses and it lasts just for 2 hours before the mains pop. I´m looking for a Pro´s Pro soft setup (confort + feel) that lasts 6 hours or more. Here, I have a single set of Vendetta 1.20 to test and I want to buy a Pro´s Pro multi to hybrid. Or I can buy another Pro´s Pro poly to test. It depends on your advice.

^^To be honest, RIP Control is probably one of the longest lasting non-polys I have used. I also crossed it with a poly, and I think I got around 7 hours with it.
Gut Power 1.40 and ClayCourt Plus lasted me the longest of the Pro's Pro multis.

How fast do you break other multi mains? poly mains?

This is the first setup that I used with multi mains and poly crosses so I don't know. Poly mains I cut it out in 12 or 14 hours.
I'm looking for a good poly to use in the crosses. A string with low friction and confortable. I think Pro's Pro has the best value for the benefit. Because of this, I would like to use a Pro's Pro multi too. A new setup that lasts 6 hours of play are enough for me.
Do you have any suggestion about the poly? Thanks!

^^ I found their polys to be on the softer side in general. Any one of the round polys in the thinner gauges should work well for you and be comfortable, especially as crosses.

I'm not sure that the whole syngut/multi mains poily cross trend is not just an attempt to find a cheaper alternative to gut /poly.
Helloo! Gut is gut!

Well, I finally got my first hit in with the Pro pros Vendetta 18g. I actually put it in my PS 6.1 95 BLX demo and really liked it (48 lbs). It was very soft, similar to Pro Supex Big Ace and the strings did not move. I mean literally, they looked exactly as if I had not even played with it. As far as I can see, I think I will be loving these strings. Thanks BigT

How many hours have you gotten out of them so far?

I have had about 8 hours and they are still going strong. Unfortunately I have to return the demo so I will need to cut them out but as long as they last me like a week I am fine with that. I like the softness of this string, just what I was looking for.

We all have different likings

Pro's Pro is so cheap. Why doesn't everyone use it?

I have one of my racquets strung with the Vendetta and the other with Plus Power, the serve different purposes.

Pro's Pro strings definitely cover the spectrum of my likings for poly strings.

I don't think I saw it covered, but does Pro's Pro have a Pro Hurricane Tour styled poly?

Ichiban Spin is supposed to be similar, but the construction is different.
Nice 17L string, tho.
I put some in a Yonex RQiS 10 with Gamma Syngut(red) @ 54/52.
Client liked it and it matched the paintjob nicely, too. 8)

Very cool! Thanks! I'll have to try it out one of these days!
