Bring back the blue clay from Spain to spice things up. I used to watch everything tennis starting in the early 80's, now, it's so damn predictable. Most people I talk to might catch the final if it's someone they know who's playing.

COME ON ATP TENNIS! Make the game interesting!

I like the clay courts but it is certainly the usual suspects and it isn't great tennis until maybe the quarters. The women's game is unwatchable and the big three are just cruising until it counts. I love tennis so I watch it every day but is isn't as good as hard court action I agree.

I wish I could watch it. Tennis Channel shows about an average of 1.8 matches per day, and on the west coast I have only an hour or two to try and catch any live streaming at work on ESPN3. Still can't get live streaming through tennis channel.?. It's like jumping through hoops just to see some live action here. So I rely on TT to give me insightful, thoughtful commentary and enlighten me with fact-based opinions and reasonable banter regarding the days events.....

I've been watching a little bit so far on the tennis channel. I'll watch more as it gets further in the tournament. I don't think we will ever see blue clay again even in Madrid next year.

Funny that you mention this, I was just reading this article on the same note: http://www.tennisthis.com/2012-tennis-season/bored-by-the-2012-french-open/

The matches are pretty boring, and fed is looking very unpolished djokovic and Nadal on the other hand seem to be dialed in...

No, even though it's pretty hardcore times at the uni with all the exams, when it comes to majors I usually sit for hours and watch matches but not this time.

I guess Nadal's "exciting" tennis (as opposed to 1-stroke "boring" tennis from the 90's) is not exciting enough to keep me interested.

Dunno, take a bit to watch some of the American hopefuls (Harrison and Baker, for example). They seem to be bringing something new to the field... and they sure put some pressure on Simon, who (I would argue) is the best Frenchman on clay right now.

+1, this time around I'm much less interested. Knowing who is going to make it to the final (and probably win it) really takes away any excitement. Even the early rounds are boring.

OP must be easily entertained if blue clay. Adjust the tint and hue settings on your TV. Voila: good tennis.

It's the first week. Serena's match was interesting. So was Baker's.

The broadcast times and constant american players only nonsense is extremely annoying. I must say I've only watched about a half hour or so during this whole week.

Tired of the same damn **** every year.

The first rounds are rarely entertaining. It's like watching the NBA. In the later rounds/playoffs it gets interesting. I hope for some vintage Roland Garros 5 set matches.

??? I've totally enjoyed it. The verdasco muller match was entertaining today. I have six channels of FO tennis on direct TV to watch though.

I dunno team, if I flick on the tennis and the first rally lasts forever, I just can't handle the thought I watching anymore. It's painful, I believe I have a new virus called marathonitis. I SERIOUSLY WANT TO KNOW HOW THE POWERS AT BE CAN SEE THIS AS ENTERTAINMENT FOR YOUNGER FOLK. EVEN GOLF IS MORE INTERESTING.

Have you ever served S&V in your life, do you have any concept of how difficult that is? You think 1-2-3 is easier. It's better than 1-23 of endless cross court hitting until someone hits it short or someone has the balls to hit it flat and maybe follow it in. Agassi was the last great tactician because he won on wildly different surfaces against S &V and incredible base liners. Tennis has way less strategy than before as the court surfaces and string technology make strategy bloody obvious. The fact that the most versatile player in Federer has to go for broke and hit every shot in the book just to have a chance to outlast Rafa and Doko says it all. I played tennis to a semi pro level and I'm currently a 5 handicap on a golf course. I don't particularly enjoy watching either of them, but skill wise the are similar, but golf beats modern tennis hands down for strategy, but you seem to know everything about golf right?

not now, they put on the kids national spelling bee on espn2 (Great job espn - it's not even a true sport),
espn 3 will show McHale and another American female Davis.
Time to sleep like Fed's dad.
