You are just full of it...Fed is a 17 slam champion and is a "Super Confident" person , not a low esteem guy like Murray
It is PLAIN STUPID to think that Fed enters the match wanting to avoid humilation.
Either you dont understand Fed or want to hype Murray.
I'm not hyping Murray at all but you are certainly over-hyping Fed! Federer is not some divine being who is immune to the normal stresses and strains, fears and anxieties of most tennis players. Winning 17 Slams doesn't automatically mean he's going to walk onto a tennis court fully confident he is going to win! If that was the case, he would hardly ever lose would he?
I called it as I saw it. He was definitely sombre and anxious looking when he entered the arena. Not his usual relaxed and upbeat self at all. And its understandable. He had just lost a match to Del Potro, for the second time on the trot, and was about to face a keen and ambitious Murray, anxious to do well at the O2 and a guy he had just lost fairly heavily to in their previous 2 meetings, the last one only a few weeks earlier! Why wouldn't he feel a bit nervous and concerned? He's only human and it would only be natural.
He certainly showed these nerves in the first few games of the match when he hit many errors and almost went down a double break. Then he managed to settle into his game and as he forced more and more errors from Murray, he settled into a rhythm and began to play with more confidence and aggression. The rest we know.
Nothing wrong with saying any of this. I wasn't having a go at Federer. He performed remarkably well to overcome these nerves and start playing like the great champion he is. It's certainly not always the case, is it?
Get over yourself and stop treating Federer as if he's some kind of god. He isn't. He's just human like the rest of us even though his tennis can appear godlike when he plays to form.
