self explanatory

Mine is Alcupolco. 500 so usually a decent turnout. filled with classic clay court tennis.

World Tour Finals and ParisMS1000 for the courts being fast.

Australian Open....because everyone is fresh and not match prepared....thus unpredictable 5 setters along with high level play from the top 10.

Indian Wells. I feel like the players' excitement over the tournament is palpable. Plus the top guys usually play doubles, which is nice to see.

I'd have to say Wimbledon because that's what I grew up watching. That was the sum total of tennis on TV all year and everyone watched it. My earliest tennis memories are of McEnroe, Connors, Borg and Navratalova and Evert Lloyd (what a crush I had) frolicking on the lawns of the all England club. My obsession was born and nostalgia has only made the memories sweeter.

+1 on Indian Wells. The players are so accessible there. The practice courts are so close and the weather is perfect that time of the year.

Australian Open and US Open. Hardcourts are for the most versatile players. Ones that don't adapt well are not versatile.

Wimbledon. That's just THE ONE for me and even though I'm Swiss, I've visited Wimbledon more than any other tennnis tournament.

I like all grass tournaments, WTF (gladiator fights), USO (video quality), Indian Wells (California), Cincy (court speed).

I hate Miami, all red clay, Canada, Dubai/Qatar, Shanghai, Bercy.

Wimbledon for obvious reasons.

Rotterdam, because it's here and pretty fast.

WTF, Cincy, Paris for being at least decent speed

AO for its atmosphere, the intensity of a new year with much hope and expectation, plus the time difference. I love waking up at night and watching into the day.

Wimbledon, it has something special.

The last few years I enjoy it even more because I can watch almost every match that I want to see, whereas in the other majors either time difference or real life prevent this from happening.

I have to say Wimbledon. However, i dreamt of winning the AO when I grew up as that was just the most insane slam.

Alongside Wimby sits the Swedish Open. It's basically Monte Carlo but MUCH more intimate.

My favorites to work as an official were Indian Wells, Charleston, Roland Garros, and the Bermuda Challenger (before it was cancelled).

I grew up watching Wimbledon so that will always be the one most reassuringly familiar to me.

But I also like the USO (especially the night matches) and the AO (despite the inconvenient time difference).

Not so keen on the FO or clay tournaments in general.

Of the smaller tournaments, I like Indian Wells, Canada, Cincinnati and Queens. Monte Carlo is the only clay event I really like.

RG is the least of the 4 slams. US Open and Wimbledon the most.

And what would you be basing this misinformation on? It's funny to me, because it seems to me that considering they all are worth the same amount of points, they would all be important. But if you have some factual information to support your ridiculous claim, why don't you share it with us? Or is it just because it's been dominated by 1 player (with the exception of one year) since 2005?

I think you will find the consensus of importance of the slams is

Tied for 1: Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open.

If you go by points, sure. Personally I'm amused that you don't know that Wimbledon is still considered the biggest prize in Tennis, and likely will be for years to come, even if the other Slams are just as coveted and just as valuable.

The term was "important", not most dreamed about players winning.

I based it on prestige.

Well, then, it's still a ridiculous claim that RG is not "prestigious".
Not as prestigious as Wimbledon or the US Open. And the Australian Open I find more interesting as well. The night matches there bring an electic atmosphere. Who cares about moonballing tennis anyways?

AO Open start the season, a lot of ilusions and very very good place. Top matchs Djockovic-Federer, Nadal-Verdasco, etc

Indian and Miami are my favourite too, because are good surfaces and we can see very good matches.

Remember that incredible two matchs Cañas-Federer, and Nadal-Blake, ...

wimbledon :) at a denizen of the uk wimbledon is given wall to wall coverage on bbc1 and bbc2 for 2 weeks..it always fills my head with classic memories of rushing home from school in the 1980s or staying in to catch some of the action..

some of the early memories get a bit confused but i remember seeing some of the 1977 wimledon final on tv when i was five, definately remember virginia wade winning the womens singles and also some bloke with a funny name (borg) which i kept shouting out BORGBORGBORGBORG and the other bloke with a bowl cut hairdo like i had, (connors).

Wimbledon by far. I suppose it may have more meaning to Brits or countries who have HM Elizabeth as their queen..all that pomp and ceremony and tradition and whites only and strawberries and cream ..and it gets dark and the players can't see what they're doing and it's on TV for 2 weeks for 10 hours a day. And if you win you get to belong to an exclusive British club.

What's not to love about Wimbledon?

Not including the grand slams I would have to say Cincy and Indian Wells.
All the top players play and it's always a good show.

Cincy because of the speed. Wimbledon because of the tradition - would be far and away my favourite if the grass was fast as it used to be. WTF for the indoor conditions - hope they don't keep slowing it down more and more - it's much more fun to see a fast low-bouncing court (I loved the court the Czechs chose for DC finals).
