Don't know if this is the case in Ohio (I just looked once) but for some scoreboards, (like USC) I cannot just refresh the page, I actually have to close my browser and reopen it get scoreboard to refresh. Pain, but the only way to get an update and better than looking at the same old score for an hour. My tip o' the day.

Ouch!! How does that one feel TopDawg?? haha

I didn't think we'd win but I thought we'd make it more competitive than that. Pieters and Wagland got outclassed in both singles and doubles. At least Singh and Wood got us a few cheap points by taking the super tiebreakers.

Kentucky and Oklahoma now tied at 1. All 3 doubles courts went to a tiebreak and 2 of the 4 singles thus far have gone to a 3rd set and both 2 and 3 might go 3 as well. Only 4 courts in Lexington so #5 singles just starting.

Rossi blew a 4-1 lead in the 3rd and lost 6-4 so it is now 3-2 OU. Minc of UK up a set at 5 while Stakhovsky of OU is serving for the 1st set at 6.

Minc won in straights so it's 3 all with #6 singles to be the decider. Stakovsky won the 1st set 6-4 but Roberts is up 3-2 in the 2nd on serve

What a crazy atmosphere at UK/OU. It was a nail biter in doubles and there were some crazy long rallies and amazing plays in doubles. I have to give OU's #1 credit he's a fighter!

After Rossi lost I thought you guys were toast. Nice job by Roberts coming back from a set down and a break down in that 3rd set.

You guys will play again in 2 weeks in the Round of 16 at the National Indoors if the rankings don't change.

From the score, looks like it could have gone either way in double, which ultimately decided the whole match. I was hoping that Alcorta could trouble Jomby a bit more with his topspin game... John, did Jomby just simply overpower Alcorta?

He gave Jomby a ton of trouble. If this went 3 sets I was convinced that Jomby was done.

Jomby basically had to work for every point. Alcort neutralized Jomby's power with loopy ground strokes and a wicked slice that seemed to skim the net but always go over. Alcorta got everything back with his speed and had some incredible lobs and stretch gets.

What seemed to work for Jomby the most was getting Alcorta moving from side to side and approaching on the backhand side. It took a lot of work on Jomby's part and it definitely could have gone either way.

Tulsa beat Baylor 5-2 - winning 5 of 6 singles.

I was there yesterday during the match, and really it is a lot closer than scores may have indicated. With the double point went to Baylor, Tulsa came out on fire in singles, taking it to Baylor at 6 and 1. Especially at #1, I thought Zsiga was a little better than what he was showing yesterday, since he really was playing Tulsa #2 player yesterday, with the TU coach swapping his #1 and #2.
De Klerk at #2 was down early and did not seem to have any confidence whatsoever, then all of a sudden started playing much better Krikovic. Krikovic is a lefty with pretty solid forehand topspin, but he keeps going cross court to De Klerk and it ended up being De Klerk BH which dictates pretty much every single rallies.
After #1 and #2 were taken by Tulsa, they have 2 courts at #4 and #5 which they had first set, but both 2nd set tie-break went to Baylor. At #3, Tulsa's Ive blew a 5-2 double break lead in the 3rd set, to let the match go to 3rd set tiebreaks. If Ive had lost, I had the feelings that it would be 4-3 to Baylor but Ive ended up pulling it out, make it 4-2 and clinches the match for Tulsa. It was a great hard fought battle from both team yesterday.

FWIW, I was really impresses with the sportsmanship displayed from Furman yesterday down in Gainesville. Notably, Andrew Mellow, the 1 for Furman. Great attitude, complimentary of his opponent, and as honest a player as I've seen in college tennis. The one bad call I did see him make, he quickly corrected himself and gave the point to the opponent...which happened to be a game point.

Good luck Paladians!

Have to concur. He is a nice kid and good player. He played my boy last year and was a good sport in that match and throughout the tournament.

Mellow even got a win over UGA's #1 Wil Spencer last year in Athens.

I agree with you. He is a good, hard working nice kid that is easy to pull for.

Not real heralded coming out of high school, but at his level now, he could play for any team in the country.

Ok let's not go crazy with the Furman love. I remember when we went up there last year the fans said some of the most offensive things to our players that I have heard at any college tennis venue.

It's easy for the players to be nice and complimentary when they have no shot to win. Boston College has super nice players too cause they are used to losing like Furman.

Furman used to have a better tennis program. But now we have the coach calling his own player an embarrassment to his family because he was losing handily to a Clemson player.

Mellow lost 3&4 to Van Overbeek. He was in the match the whole way and could've hooked a couple calls to make it even tighter. Not what I consider "no chance to win".

Not saying they are a top flight team, nor do I have a clue about their fans in an in state rivalry match. Wait. Why would Clemson ever agree to go to Furman to play? SC and Clemson should always host the in state mid majors. Bad scheduling job by CU.

It's probably good that the Cardinal didn't make it to Seattle. They might have gone 0-3.

yes sireee bob... too many solid teams there.. Texas A&M looks good tho ..

but I was looking at the UCLA line-up... D.Nov.. was playing #1 and won .Marcos G. played #3 and lost ? crazy .... college tennis this year may be like college basketball ... no real front runners...

upsets will be common this year, at least for the next month or so.
the top 8 ranked teams seem to be about right, but the rest will change a lot for awhile.

Chaudry was serving for it up 5-4 in the 3rd and double faulted on match point. Must have been awfully tense on that court.

Looks like Skogeng getting blasted off the court. I thought it was a pretty good decision by Miss State to move Dumont up to 5 and drop Vinti to 6. Dumont hasn't been playing well so might as well sacrifice him at 5 and give Vinti the better shot at 6.

What a wild match. I wonder how different would it have been if played outdoor and all 6 matches at once.

Good question. You may not know, MSU has won the last 4 meetings with UM. I believe that's 2 indoor and 2 outdoor.

Have not looked up their schedules but they may play again regular season.
