My Wilson Sticks after 15 minutes...aka why I can't play with 17g strings.

Yes it was exorbitant. Included 4 restrings of Alu Power rough plus a few other accessories and international postage. All in all.. buying current release models new isn't something you'd do if money is tight!

Are you hitting with rocks or something? You've got to be doing something technically wrong to break two sets of string in 15 minutes. That or you're kinking the string when installing.

WOW, you are awesome.
Let's meet for a hit, I always wanted to play with someone hitting such "bombs" that kills 2 sets of strings in 15 minutes (Pros do not do that!).

PM Me, please!

A lots of top spins might do it after a while, but 15 minutes is incredible.

My friend in highschool did this once during warmup at a tourney. He was our first singles, and basically played a John Isner game (big serve and forehand). He is 6'7" and he had three speed port reds strung with psgd @mid tension. Popped one of the strings after the third hit during warmup when he nailed a huge topspin forehand and then he popped another string on his next stick while playing a hard-fought match. But none of us knew back then that he should have been using poly...

yea its possible. the string jobs couldve been in there a long time, and got brittle for whatever reason. 15min is fast, but possible

Zapvor, after hitting with my coaches prostaffs and loving them as well as loving the prestige mp and seeing all of these awesome frames in this thread, I think I will set out a goal for myself: I'm going to buy a 12 pack bag that I love the looks of, and I'm going to fill it with rackets that I love. No more than twelve, and no less. Then my tennis racket addiction will be complete!

Mike, that's what you think NOW ;-)
Next, you start looking for that second 12 pack because you just need it to store your other rackets...
And if you don't sell any, this is bound to continue ;-)
Oh, and you'd never really call it an addiction - you really need these rackets because you like some variety and it doesn't hurt having some choices.

I was just watching Wimbledon 1996 and Krajicek's Yonex wasn't red.
What racquet was he using?

Yonex Super RD Tour 90

What are the white ones in the middle? Those are pretty sharp looking. :p

The left one is an F200, and the other two are F210.

Amen... :)

Ha, Dino, your collection is the BEST - simply awesome, also or rather especially because of your taste in rackets :)

Hahaha. Well I'm planning on giving up videogames, so I think this is still a healthier option :D

So true - wish I had had this insight sooner ;-)

Yeah, I mean videogames just take up so much of my time because they're addicting. I would much rather be playing tennis, customizing a racket, or doing something else that might involve other people. Rather than wasting hours by myself in the basement...

I finally decided my kids don't get to have all my money. First new racquets in two plus years. They're all matched up, with my usual set-up of Babolat leather and Tourna-Tac overgrips. Will go with my usual string set-up and tinker from there.

Is that's couple kblade tours I see?

Correct :)

More or less back to front.

IG Radical Pro
Liquidmetal Radical MP
TW Pro Staff 85 Reissue - sold my originals from 15 years ago :(
Dunlop 4D 100
T3000
Jack Kramer Pro Staff

Bab APD
Dunlop 4D 200 Tours - probably best racket in the group, getting to old to play tournaments with these. Get dead arm.
KBlade Tour
Yonex 95D
K90
Dunlop 200g
Rossignol F250 - so beautiful in person. Thing has to be 13 oz, feels heavy.
Prince Response 90 - I'd kill for a reissue of this. Flexy, plush, spinny.

Gone from the collection (some stolen, some sold):
Wilson Profile
Prince Graduate CTS
Prince Approach CTS
Wilson Ultra FPK
Donnay Pro One (original blue and yellow one) - :(
Dunlop Black Max

Very nice collection sir. Do you like the blades?

Yes and no. OHBH, serves, and volley's like a champ. But I had trouble with my full western forehand. Plus a dense string pattern and smallish head make it feel a bit stiff, though I didn't try many string setups. The Dunlop 4D 200 Tour was like a more plush, forgiving version of that style of players racket for me.

If that makes any sense.
