3.0 Looking a new racquet

I'm currently playing with a Head LM4, but I feel that I'm not getting enough pace on my shots and not hitting the ball deep enough into the court. Does anyone have any suggestions on a racquet that can help with this problem?

Play style? Age? Height/weight/sex? Money you can afford into it? You know, some basic infos would be nice.

I'm 44 years old. I'm more of an all court player. I'm 6'2" 240lbs. I have developed some shoulder pain recently, if that helps.

That absolutely helps. Because some racquets are stiffer than others.

So, we're talking about this?

It's not horribly stiff, but it's not soft either, so it wouldn't be surprising if you feel some pain. If you feel you're lacking power and have elbow issues, I suggest you put some multi or gut in your frame to see how it plays. It's better for your elbow and usually more powerful. Although if you had you racquet for long, play often and strung many times, your frame may be a bit too much used and good to replace.

EDIT:
Do you break strings? May be worth trying Tecnifibre X1 Biphase, NRG² or TGV, Babolat XCel for example. Pretty powerful, and better for your elbow.

I don't know, the Liquid metal has been my first good racket around 5 years ago when I was maybe 2.5.

Now I'm maybe 3.5 (or 3 depending how strict you...approximate it in Canada) and I'd advise the OP to get a better raquet such as the

Wilson Six.One 95 BLX
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_BLX_SixOne_95_16x18/descpageRCWILSON-WSO95O.html

Among all pros that use Wilson, this is the model most favoured, apparently.

And it has one of the most shock absorbing materials in it (basalt).
I also second recommending natural gut or Wilson NXT max ( + Babolat Xcel etc) if you break strings too fast...

If you don't want to pay as much, snatch a lightly used one from e b a y

Sounds like you like the Head grip shape so and, at your size, you should be able to handle the Prestige Pro. OR you can just add lead to hoop of your current stick. People will say the Prestige is too advanced for you...maybe so but you're going to need some plow through (decent swing weight) to get the ball deep. Wilson Hammer/Tour may be a good compromise.

Shoulder problem I think is more technique than the stick as opposed to an elbow issue. I currently am dealing with a slight impingement and will rest and do rehab exercises.

The 6.1 is notorious for arm problems, so I would not advise that. The head extreme pro 2.0 would be worth a look. It'll be a bit heavier than your LM4, but will do EVERYTHING better. More power, more spin, more control.

I'm not saying it's a bad racquet, I'm just saying he might have worn it. IMO, a good 100in² head size is good. Don't need to drop 7in² from 102 to 95 all of sudden. But better try some powerful multis before IMO if there are some arm problems. EDIT: The Extreme Pro 2.0 is even stiffer than his Liquid Metal...

The liquid metal is a vibrating tinny racket. I've played with it. The weight of the extreme pro 2.0 absorbs the shock from the stiffness.

The Extreme Pro is stiff - although it doesn't play and feel as stiff as its rating. I have no issues with it. I love the way it feels. But, something to keep in mind. It's a great racquet, IMO.

The Radical Pro is another option if you want to stay with HEAD. Its a smaller head size, but it has good pop and is soft and flexy which would definitely help with any shoulder and arm pain I believe. It is lighter than the Prestige, but has a higher SW, so its got plowthrough. The Prestige felt stiffer than the Extreme when I demoed. It felt a little boarder. Prestige Pro is what I'm talking about, BTW.

I'm guessing you'll like the Extreme. If the stiffness concerns you, go with the Radical Pro. That's my two cents.

If you want to go outside of HEAD, then there's numerous other options.

You probably mean the KFactor 6.1 95, not the BLX/BLX 2012 Amplifeel ones with basalt (I find them best at shock absorbing of all frames I've tried, i.e. > Head's Innegra MP Speed 315 etc), right?

Thanks and well, since we are recommending 100 sq inches, how about the Prince Ozone Tour (Davidenko's)? A very plush racket (if you can find it, I got 3 for my significant one)

And in the same weight class, I liked most (for a lighter frame) the HEAD IG MP Speed 315 (Djokovic's previous model?)!

And I would love to try his newer, heavier (stock) stick:

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_YOUTEK_Graphene_Speed_Pro/descpageRCHEAD-HGSPRO.html

Both 100 inches.

The Graphene Speed Pro has the same SW 328g as my current 6.1 95 but is about 14g lighter (341g) and less head light too ( 6 vs 10 points):

Yeah I just assumed all 6.1 were like that

The Extreme 2.0 is not really for a 3.0. If you dont have the spin stroke its a launcher. I will say it hits a terrific spin serve like crazy.

Not at all and as I posting in a different thread: when I try to go back to the KFactor, I feel I need a dampener now (although I''ve never used one before, like 2-3 years when it was my main stick).
The BLX is very plush by comparison (not only to the Kfactor, but to most rackets; in my limited experience to all I've tried).

Two things about the LM4 that could be hurting your shoulder are the extended length and head heavy balance. At your size, you could also be using a racquet that's an ounce heavier. With more weight, you will need more HL balance. Also, at the 3.0 level it helps a lot to work on your technique and body mechanics to improve your game and avoid injury.

The Dunlop Biomimetic line is very comfortable. You might want to look for something like this:

Biomimetic 400 or 400 Tour. I just bought one and it is very nice, headlight balance making it easier to perfect your shots and is fairly comfortable with multi or gut.
