Hey Wicked,
SSgator80's tournament fee this weekend is $54.25 plus who knows what he is paying in travel and lodging down to South Florida. Perhaps he could play 1 less tournament a year and spring for a can of "supermarket" tennis balls.
Obviously don't tell him I told you this, but he told me he sometimes puts used penn balls in dryer and then uses them as "new" balls when it's his turn for balls.

I was in Mkeler's little part of the world for dinner last night. We had dinner at one of the restaurants along his "strip". I believe his place was casting a long shadow down on us little people. Sitting two tables over was Brian Hill, former Magic coach.

The owner of that company posts as BigT here on the message boards. I've tried a few of the Pro's Pro strings. They seem to be knockoffs of better known strings. I'm not sure if they are exact copies or perhaps string that does not meet QC standards for the other companies. Worth a shot for a young guy on a budget.

I played 2 sets of singles. The 2nd set was pretty low quality stuff.

When I was playing yesterday at about 10, the guy next to me on court 7 had one of those plastic thermometers sitting on the plastic racks on the court post and it was reading 130. LOL. I know it is hot but not 130. He was telling everybody how hot it was. I think at 130 we are dead.

They used to have a thermometer on the top level at OTC that would register 130 or 140 sometimes and it would not even be in the summer. Har Tru is definitely cooler to play on than hard courts too.

I did hard courts last night. Total sweat bath. First one of the year for me where my shoes are wet and everything.
The weird thing was that it felt great outside for the most part. It was a really nice night. (i played at 730)
I also now have the opposite problem on balance. Was leaning into my backhands and placing well. Falling backwards on many forehands..ugh.

I think hitting 40 has caused one positive thing. I don't sweat as much as a few years ago.

I'm still glowing from my hard fought victory last night against Wicked Forehand. It was a close hard fought battle, but I eventually pulled it out 3-3, 30-15 before lightning forced the instantaneous match decision which I clearly won. I did the Tsonga dance at the end of the match as my opponent left in tears.

Not so sure I agree with ur recollection Macular. All I know is there was a flash of light, which we weren't sure if it was lightning or the lights flickering. Next thing I know, ur hauling *** out of the parking lot. I tried to wave you down to see where u were going, you just waved and burned rubber.

That was funny when they turned the lights on outside and you ducked under the table afterwards. Epic.

There is a reason I typically don't check my phone during a match. She was putting all kinds of bad voodoo on us playing.

have dinner ready for her before match time and you might be surprised.
The geography of where I work, play tennis and live does not favor this approach. Plus, I burned water last time I tried to cook. The issue last night actually was about dinner, she thought I'd get rained out and come straight home to take her out.

surprisingly the 94F and only 500% humidity at 2:00 pm was tolerable...but then i could have been delirious. :shock:
