He's not going to heal his body by turning into a freaking grinder. That' going to make It worse. The whole point of hitting harder and going for winners earlier is so you can save your body

No one is asking to become a grinder, yet he can't serve and volley in this era either. Look what he did today - tried to out-hit Robredo. I think he could have a played a little smarter - bring in Robredo, angles etc.

Vernoniquem tried to tell me Roddick had mechanical flaws in his serve, but only against Federer, whatever that means. She clearly knows nothing. The_Truth comes a close second though....What a case she is!

Yeah and then they blame Fed fans for hating on Nadal when he loses.

Never. Nadal is made of the stuff true heroes are made of! He never ever backs off from a challenge.
And by the way his path to the final is starting to look real peachy :)
ETA: keep it up with the Beatles songs! Very nice.

He backed out of playing the AO this year when his knees were fine, with some dubious illness excuse. He backed off from the challenge of wimbledon 2009.He'sbacked off from many challenges actually. Unlike Fed who has never retired in a match like Nadal, and only had 2 withdrawls in his whole career. Fed also has shown upso many times to face Nadal on clay. What guts.

Something looks wrong with Nadal. He's just standing there on a lot of points. Not even trying. Still shouting vamos at times but...looks off.

I am just waiting for someone to explain to me how a guy serves harder than ever in his career in his 30s. Apparently we are not allowed to discuss this subject. We all are supposed to be quiet.

Federer acknowledged the bad shot selection after the match including all the times he went right back to Robredo on approaches.

He's done that before where he uses the same tactic that doesn't work over and over again out of stubborness or something. I wonder how aware he was about that during the match and what causes him to do that type of thing.

Fed should head straight to the practice court with his big racquet.

Yesterday, by FedCartney:

Yesterday, all my shankings seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Suddenly, I’m not half the GOAT I used to be
There’s an unforced error hanging over Me.
Oh, today came suddenly

Why it had to go I don’t know it wouldn’t say
I did something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, tennis was such an easy game to play
Now I need to practise harder every day
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Why it had to go I don’t know it wouldn’t say
I played something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, tennis was such an easy game to play
Now all I do is hit the net all day
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm

Haha that's very good!

About the match: Very disappointing. I'm not even that bummed that he lost because he would've gotten destroyed by Nadal anyway. Still, it hurts to see him play like this. I can't understand why he couldn't cash in on those break points. It wasn't just one BP. There were 14 that he couldn't make! 14!!! Sh1t.. How is that even possible?

He was practicing for playing against Nadal, so he needed to test out how to win a match whilst being totally crap at converting break points.

Now the time has come
There's no place to run
I might get burned up by the sun
But I had my fun
I've been loved and put aside
I've been crushed by tumbling tide
And my soul has been psychedelicized

Fed Must Retire

You're certainly not "being quiet". You've made your little insinuations, and everyone -- from the people who support them, slimy as they are, to the people who wish you *would* be quiet -- has picked up on them.

The only people left to pick up on them is the mods. And you've already complained about them. I can always tip you to them -- again (apparently it wouldn't be the first time) -- if you like.

Otherwise, cut it out.

So if he is not clean, does Fed move on?

You can do what you want. I dont care. You can tell on me and cry to an OP We arent supposed to talk about subjects that are there for all of us to see. I am done. One day it will come out and then we will be allowed to talk about it.
I feel like I am in China.

Maybe the dream match was never meant to happen. :(

Could it be that Federer fails to defeat Nadal in a hardcourt match at a grand slam?

Yeah, how can anyone win wearing pink shoes?? Federer probably distracted himself with those bright hot pink shoes every time he looked down to hit the ball.

Not only that, those bright pink shoes were like beacons of light, Robredo could have tracked Fed's movement from miles off shore...ahhahaa...:evil::evil:

I'm just bummed that we don't get a Federer vs. Nadal USO match. Nadal probably would've wiped the floor with him, but still...

I guess Robredo needs to be added to this one.

Imagine

by Fedennon

Imagine there’s no Murray
It’s easy if you try
No Nadal below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all My fans
Living for today…
Imagine there’s no Nole
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to defend or try for
And no Hawkeye too
Imagine all the linespeople
Living My life in peace…

You may say I’m a GOAT
You know I am the only One
I hope someday you won’t join Me
Otherwise I’m really really done

Imagine Me with no rivals
I certainly know I can
No need for sweatings or gruntings
The little guys, just men
Imagine all the happy people
Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer
I’m not the only one
Please someday don’t join Me
So I will always be the One.

Khala.....

We will see how many times Nadal chickens out when he's 32 years old.

So, does that mean ****** will not ever be 32.
He will be 31 and the next year he will be 33?
Heroic stuff darling !

I know. That's what I said: either a fear of Nadal beating him in all slams or he's that bad. Sharp decline all of a sudden. But maybe it was a bit of both + being moved to Armstrong.

Some folks need such simple thoughts to keep their life going and get their pants wet.
Anything that makes you happy....

I told you guys I wanted to see how Fed's back would hold up against somebody good but never thought it would be against LOLbrado.

How would you feel and react when ****** would kick Joker's thin butt in open at Arthur Ashe - assuming "Muzzita, the royal king of Scotland" will let Joker reach the final in the first place?
Would you show up?

I wonder how Sampras would do at Wimbledon in 2003 if he was still active...(to avoid further humiliating losses probably).

2nd round of qualies maybe?

Sampras was still active at the time of 2003 Wimbledon. After starting preparations to play in the tournament with his coach, Paul Annacone, he pulled out after realising that he no longer had the motivation.

It won't be so much his game that will make the decision for Fed to retire as the fact his children will need a stable educational background. Like children the world over they need to go to school and make friends, have fun and a real home.

Otherwise they will have to be on Talk Tennis all day, and that is not healthy.

Seeing Becker being dominated by Pete was a very sad experience for me as child. It wasn't so much Becker declining but rather being bested by someone else. With Federer it's quite a bit different now because I'm an adult and as much as I love Fed he's not my hero or anything like that but it is a bit of a bummer not only seeing him being bested on the reg by Nadal but now also seeing his decline.
As a fan I'm not sure if would like to see him go on or call it quits. Just hope he's happy. He's brought me a lot of joy watching his matches over the years and just hope he's genuinely happy if decides to keep going for a while or retires soon.

His legacy is already set. No one will remember all these losses he had this year...let the guy play as long as he wants....no matter what...its still good to see him out there competing!!
