Why Novak is so angry in Shanghai ?

I watched his last three matches and he gets angry for some slight mistakes against players that he has a positive record like 5-0 10-0 or five straight wins in a row (Tsonga) and I dont know but it seems very strange that someone with his succes being a living legend gets so easily angered against no real threat opposition ..... its just not a behaviour that you expect from a champion.Probably some personal reasons ?!

Please! You want him to bend over for Nadal and be happy about losing number 1? I'm glad he's angry. He should be....Hope he gets his fire back along with his form.

Djokovic's behaviour is unworthy of a champion, indeed unworthy of any player with class. It's also unnecessary. Andy Murray has shown how chanelling your anger properly can help you play better.

I dont believe that this is the case ,this is the type of anger that you are upset with something big and you unleashed the anger on the first person to do something wrong. And being seven years on the top of the tennis , you think that he would probably accustomed with losing positions against great rivals.

Are you worried about djokovic' state of mind or Fed's slam record?

No.

Are you? You don't want to see competition for Nadal?

TBH I'm not a glory hunter...Don't care even if Nadal breaks his record...Federer's game (during his prime) is what I enjoyed...An all court game with a lot of variation and incredible technique....So even if your hero breaks the record, I'm not going to switch sides...Sorry!

It's a way of expressing discontent and therefore the urge to improve. Might not be the best way to show this obviously. I wish federer would get ****ed off too.

That would do more harm to Federer's game than good. Federer plays his best when he is feeling great and enjoying the match. Whenever he gets angry, he starts spraying errors more trying to hit winners. Remember he started winning tournaments only after he learned to properly contain his emotions.

On topic, Djokovic is not doing this first time. He and Murray has always been expressing their dissatisfaction during the matches. Nadal on the the other hand, while not very good at celebrating, has always contained his anger pretty good during the matches. To be fair, Nadal also matured and does not go overboard celebrating like he used to.

He seems like he has some minor rage issues, honestly. I don't know what would cause it, but he's on a short fuse and it honestly seems like he always is/was, going back a few years.

It did seem odd.

Is it possible that there is still a mathematical chance to end up year end #1.

Even if the possibility is small, maybe he's angry that he let it get to this point, considering Nadal missed so much of the season.

He is a perfectionist.....he wants that AO more than anything .....believe it or not......he even wants it more than the wwf.....I mean wtf :)

Because he can't hide it anymore as well as he has over the last few years. This guy has always been a nutter and always will be. He's downright psycho.

You're thinking of Nadal (when are you not?), but this thread is about Djokovic.

Yeah and you constantly have Fed on the brain. Pretty funny that you, as one of the most obsessed Fed fans on here, would say something like that.

Because he knows he let a lot of big opportunities slip from his fingers. This could have been a historical year for him, but instead he has now had to accept the mantle of the world number two.

I hope this fires him up. Tennis needs him back in top form, and fighting to reclaim his throne.

I think this has been going on for much longer than just Shanghai... and now more people are noticing. 2013 Nole has been largely restless and agitated.

He's trying to find ways of sustaining his extremely high level of play and he's battling with himself to do it and at the same time is being overly critical of himself. He just doesn't want to drop the ball. This my read on it anyway.

I totally agree. I mean Nole who won a slam and appeared in 2 finals and a semi is now in second place to a guy who won 2 slams but didnt play in one slam and an early exit in the other. And he knows it just came down to a few points in that 3rd set in the US open that made all the difference this year. But its good that he feels the heat. He slept for too long this year especially during those crucial moments in the slams. Novak plays his most aggressive clutch tennis when he is pumped up and when he knows its on.

I think one reason noone has mentioned is that the tournament seems to have some hitches. Ball boys are confused or late a lot. Crowd isn't managed well. Stuff like that

He's angry because MN didn't make a wrestler related thread for him, like he did for Nadal.

It's true, It's true.

Not only that, but the line calling isn't so good. The players shouldn't have use the challenges so much.

Djokovic's anger started a long time before Shanghai. It's been going on for months, if not for the majority of his career.
I remember writing this comment at least 6 months ago."I very much dislike the anger and rage in his eyes and that's following a win."
Very little has changed the rage and anger has always been there, bubbling under the surface. Maybe, he is now finding it a little harder to control his natural instincts.

Novak is in an uncomfortable place. He is very emotional on court, and realizes that the number 1 player isn't supposed to act like Gulbis. Novak is actually more volitile on court than Gulbis. He's tried to reign in his outbursts, but he uses the outbursts to fuel him. So he's stuck, and not in a good way for him.

I'd be angry if i could've won 4 grandslams this year if not for a few mistakes.
If you watched the french open he was fairly calm despite the large mistakes he made as well as wimbledon.

Maybe hes finally venting out all his anger. Whether this emotional detachment is good or not is entirely up to the way he plays

This is so true, but trying to tell that to his minions is a total waste of time. The guy has anger issues, and I really hate to see what he's like behind closed doors.

Don't be a dope. How a player is on court doesn't necessarily match off court person. Plenty of people I've worked with have a business and personal persona. Aka, they can be jerks at work, and wonderful outside of work.

BS. If he's that angry and out of control on court, then there is no way he doesn't exhibit any of that volatile behavior off court. He's a hot head with a bad temper problem, but continue to try and chide me because you have a bone to pick with me.

He is also verbally abusive, as his constant vulgar language towards the crowd and his opponent show.

I don't have a bone to pick with you, I just think that you are wrong in over 97% of your posts. I consider you similar to a number of posters that I rarely agree with, that I find highly annoying based on the multitude of posts.

Sure you don't. That's why you post stalk me and rant at me on the regular.

And I consider you to be a wacko who won't leave me alone. I rarely ever reply to your posts, but you cannot help yourself from replying to mine.

I mock you when I see dumb azz posts. Trust me, you aren't alone. I got accused of getting that nimrod Chico banned for the 4th time. I don't stalk you, when you invade most threads in a way I find highly annoying.

You have even accused me of stalking you in threads I've started, which is rich!

You can't stand a Nadal fan to call you out, plain and simple.

What's ironic is how Nadal fans get called out as a group, and I see much more of a range of thoughts in the Nadal fans. Nadal fans are the fan base most likely to call out other Nadal fans than any other fan base here.

I think you're as looney as Cvac. You have invented so much crap inside your head about me it's frightening. Please go join The Brethren because I think you would fit in more with Chico, F1slob, and the rest of the minions.
