But some guys on this TW site/thread question HOW I can do so many sports, and most of them up to a decent top amateur level.
I never made PRO, but pro is living off winnings. I"ve probably only made LESS than $1,000 in winnings. I made Pro, as in sponsors, freebies, comps, VIP's, perks, and a chance to compete at pro levels against other pros.
A tennis player going out and trying Futures/Q's/Satelite is NOT pro, but trying to become pro. He's an amateur with some sponsorships.
A PRO lives off the money he makes in competition, doesn't have to string rackets, sell racket to retail customers, or teach tennis.
A TEACHING PRO is the guy making a living off teaching tennis.

If he has accepted any prize money in any tournament, even in the first round as a loser, he is a pro. That is how he is classified for college athletics, for example.
Used to be a doctor. A gynecologist, in fact, in Asuncion, Paraguay under the dictatorship. Did all the generals' wives (if you get my drift). Lost my license & nearly my life. Drifted back to the U.S. Did a stint at Biogenesis in South Florida. Now work motorcycle races & windsurfing competitions in the S.F. area. Play tennis from time to time with a guy named LeeD. Anybody ever heard of him?
