Hard to find Yonex replacement grips, especially those that come with the raquets. Anyone have any idea where to get them?

Question is...why would you want to? The Yonex grips that come on their racquets are paper thin and last about a month until they are forever melded into the pallet. Replace it immediately with quality grip like Head Hydrosorb, Gamma, Prince Resipro or Babalot Skinfeel.

Because I like to keep the unstrung weight/balance at 330gms/310mm. The lightest of the grips you mentioned is the Skin Feel which is about 14 or 15 grams. It's not a lot more and I have used them, but i am just curious about whether I can do a little better. What i will probably do is go with the Tourna Pro Thin which is 11 or 12 grams trimmed but with a little bit of shock absorption (as opposed to the paper thin Kimony leather. Thanks for your input.

I got the VCORE 97 Tour G (330) this week. It's been some time since yonex produced a heavy flexible racquet and this hasn't disappointed. I've owned and played with the original VCORE 97 Tour for a few months and there are some noticeable differences. I finally sold off the original Vcore because i found it was be a bit sluggish when swinging it. The Vcore G is far more maneuverable and easier to swing. The Vcore G has a little bit more feel because of the flexibility and isn't as crisp. And yes, I can feel the additional spin from the Vcore G. My balls are dipping much more once it goes over the net. I did prefer the original Vcore more on bh slices but the differences aren't significantly more noticeable.

I also have the Ezone AI 98 strung with Volkl pyscho. It's definitely more modern feeling. Still comfortable and more powerful, but for some weird reason, the swing felt sluggish to me. I think someone else on the forums mentioned this and I would tend to agree. I did notice that the bottom of the hoop (toward the throat) starts higher than most of my other racquets. it's a pretty noticeable difference and something that I think requires an adjustment and maybe contributes to this sluggish feeling with the weight of the head being further away from my body. I also wouldn't necessarily consider the ai98 to be more forgiving, but it may just be my string set up. I'm giving it another go try with a multifilament at a lower tension and adding some lead at the handle to make it a little more head light.

Really good review. Do you know if your tour g came in on spec? Just curious there. I also own an ai98 so that comparison is nice. I lead mine to 340.

Zumzool, I agree with the comment about the relatively easier BH slices with the regular version, but it's true, the difference is barely noticeable.

EDIT: As a matter of fact, I think those defensive slice forehands (squash shots) were a tad easier to connect with in the Tour version, now that I think about it, right from the start. But the difference isn't big and by adapting to the Tour G it will probably disappear.

Anyone have any spare Yonex buttcaps they could part with?
I need a 4 1/4" one, but could probably make a 3/8" fit too.

I will swap you a new package of string (poly or nylon) for your buttcap. Shoot me an email if u can help me out.

Enjoy it. They may not make another frame like the TG. Yonex is not a legacy frame company, so you have to buy up the ones you like while they are available.

Hey guys, can anyone compare the RDIS200 and the Vcore 98D? thanks

HI I can as I have the Xi version and owned the RDIS 200. The RDIS is very soft and flexible. Heavier frame, more spin, more open pattern and is more suited for grinding with loopier shots than big, power hitting.

The 98D/XI/SI is about power. Its like a pure drive, but a little less power, better more solid feel and much better control.

It is a stiff frame and does not have the soft feel of the Rdis, but it makes tennis a lot easier and is massive on serve.

Japan only ? that means it is made for girly men. probably has low swingweight and high stiffness index

Oh the irony (which is probably totally lost on you). Way to go with your racial stereotype. What's that racquet in your SIG? Low swing weight and high stiffness! Which makes you... Girly, according to your own twisted logic. Apologies for feeding the troll to everyone else:)

This may have been discussed elsewhere, but I'm not able to find it.

Will there be an update to the VCore 89 and 97 in 2015?
