Blackwidow really is sharp!

just strung up a racquet for someone with Dunlop Black Widow 17g , went to put some arnica cream on my wrist and my finger started to burn.

Found out that the BW actually cut my finger, almost like a paper cut!

Dang those are sharp edges!

When doing poly, whether edged or not, I tape my finger tips [index and middle] to prevent the bruising/cuts from occurring. If you ever had to do several 18x20 Prestiges with poly, you will appreciate this.

Lux Savage, a string I used a long time ago, used to burn my fingers when pulling crosses...

These days, is natty guy mains and a nice, smooth poly cross or a full bed of smooth poly!

Impressive. I couldn't weave with taped tips

Haven't tried stringing Black Widow, but Tourna BHB7 and Weiscanon UC are two strings that made me question wanting to use/string shaped poly.
I have a customer that loves Ultra Cable. He gave some to 3 of his friends and that all cut it out within a couple of days.

I've done the same thing with T1 Firewire and T1 Boost (Firewire and round poly hybrid prepackaged set). I'll have to try it one more time in the low or mid 40's. Those edges on Firewire are sharp as well.

You won't regret it

Oh, I meant that UC and BHB7 were so painfully sharp to string, it made me question wanting to use shaped polys in the future. Turns out I really don't care for UC either, and I had high hopes. Seems to be a very polarizing string.

There are strings I like other don't, and vice-a-versa. For instance, many people like PSG w/Duraflex I hate it. There is no telling what other may or may not like.

Painful? I don't have that problem. UC, BW, and other strings with edges just get strung differently. I do not use one weaving method for all strings.

Try stringing Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable. That stuff is like running razors through your fingertips.

I strung a set last night through my 95 18x20, it wasn't fun but it didn't cut my fingers or anything. The stuff feels like weed whacker string though, very plasticy and wire like.

For a guy that just got his Neos a few months ago, you seem to be stringing a lot with a variety of strings. You're on the road to string-a-holicsm. It's not too late. Give your credit cards to the SO so you can't buy/try any more stuff.

If you want pain, try the triangular poly shapes. I hate those so I charge more for the 'pain and suffering.'

Head gravity, solinco barbwire, dunlop.black.widow are pretty bad
but with weaving one ahead, most are not as big an issue
Using my separator tool to fan, solves most of this pain..

Before I string my crosses I put trainer tape around the big knuckle on my right hand little finger. When I pull some crosses with some string types in some patterns I cut myself there. So I am trying to train myself by taping that joint every time I string a racket.
