Do you guys charge for adding stencil?

Hi folks

Do you charge extra for adding a graphic to the string job?

Or is it a freebie for the customer?

If so how much do you charge?

Cheers, Paul

I very seldom stencil, but when I do never charged.lt never took too much time, just had to purchase a number of ink bottles as ink dries out
Since I rarely stencil, the ink cap dries up to where I can't use it anymore. Last couple stencil request, I told them stencil ink dried out, so I really don't offer it anymore.. Been a while now.If anyone wants a stencil bad enough I tell them to order ink and stencil from TW and do their own.Not worth my time as ink dried out faster than I can use it
I don't string for any pros that are required by their sponsor to have stencil.

Nevermore, so the cost is not an issue. I do not do stencils for the same reasons Jim e cited. The other major issue is the ink does not stay on the strings very long because it does not penetrate the string. After 60 minutes of hitting, the ink is basically gone. And I've had clients ask me if I used cheap stencil ink....o_O

I never stencil. My philosophy is if a player wants a stencil they can buy one and add it themselves, or if a company wants me to advertise for them they can sponsor me.

I have similar thinking here
if the companies want me to stencil their stuff, they can supply me with free stuff to do this
im def. not paying to buy a stencil plate and/or the ink, with all the issues descrived above

OP, to get back to your question
I would not charge if someone asked me to do this!, but I would ask them to supply the stuff to do it for them..
similar to replacing overgrips imo..

I do the old “do you need a stencil”

90% of my customers like it, but then I have that minority that don’t want to stencil.
Free of charge too.

I always ask if the customer wants stencil, more often than not customers want the stencil. I do not charge.

Interesting. May I ask why?

I do it for free if the customer requests it.

I don’t do it on my frames.

I don't know. :) I just kinda like it. The Yonex stencil just looks....dear Lord I can't believe I'm saying this.....cool to me. It's certainly not because I'm getting anything from from Yonex. :)

Back when the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson Batman movie came out my coach strung my black racquet with bright yellow strings and put a black Batman stencil on it. It was awesome!

But he didn't charge me for it.

What did you switch to? The Vcore Pro 97 310?

Yonex VCORE 98 Galaxy

I originally bought a red one and then found out they made them in black. I practice with the red one and play matches with the two black ones.

I have to give kudos to the @TW Staff . Their reviews were pretty much spot on. They, politely, didn't like the Volkl V-Sense Tour 10's lack of power but lauded the VCore. I have found the same. The Yonex is super easy to play with, great off the ground, even better around net (very easy to volley with). The best quality is serving. Direction, power and spin are tip top.

Check in this thread. There's should be a Batman Logo or image in there.

Sorry @Polotechnics. If you are doing stencils for clients, the regular retail brands are in the cited thread. Grab the image, edit, copy it to a sheet of plastic and cut it out. (y)
