Nike better be hiding something cool for WTF or something because their winter line is TRULY disappointing, and I am an unapologetic Nike fan

This is their Winter vs Fall line (the colors at least)... or maybe its Fall then Winter. Its tough to tell because they are almost the damn same. SMH

The shirts I feel I purchased a couple of years ago are still the same. I love Nike tennis but maybe they should consider a price adjustment. The RF stuff was great but it makes more sense now why Fed didn’t renew.

ahahaha the quality or price of the Nike RF retail clothing had absolutely nothing to do with him leaving.

“I really wanted to make the best apparel, the best-looking apparel for a tennis player in recent years. I want to re-do that, and recreate the coolest things with Uniqlo.”

Also, in the interview he claims that he didn’t like the designs and the way Nike was going with the tennis apparel.

Where did I say he left because of the price or quality? Rubbish from u

Hopping on court wearing a generic $15 tee with labels sewn on retrospectively seems somewhat at odds with the above 'mission statement' no? #300millionreasonswhy

That's him amicably, politically, and nicely saying "I wanted 300 million dollars". I am 100% sure it was a case of "He asks and Nike changes designs". He even said he had input on his designs in past interviews. Soooooooo

I think they’re scaling down their tennis division in preparation of Rafa and Fed retiring much like they did to their golf division after Tiger slowed down. I was a Nike guy up until a couple years ago, but their quality is has dropped significantly in comparison to their competitors. I have some Nike stuff for 2010 that is still pristine, while shirts and shorts I bought in 2017 are already pulling and tearing.

I’d love to be wrong because I love Nike and especially their RF line, but as of now the only category they crack my top 5 in is sweatbands.

Since Fed left Nike last year, they've pretty much been in a steep decline. Seems like the move wasn't particularly benefical to either party. UniQlo is never going to break into the mainstream US market for athletic companies, and Nike tennis is starting to dry up like a puddle in the sun.

^Is that really the jacket? That's awful. No double zipper?

A far cry from those GOAT Windrunner hoodies of 2015...

The one he wore in that Basel trophy ceremony where he looked at his watch during Fed's speech was just awesome! That one or the white one with black trim they released were my two favorite colorways.

The heads of most american auto companies said the same thing 30 years ago about their asian competitors. "They are never gonna make it in the US". 30 years later and half of these american auto companies are closed and the other half are either struggling or at best doing ok.

Sure... different industries but the market always has space for low cost quality everything. Never say never! :):)

Which one do you have? I'm pissed at myself for not getting the black one.

I have the grey AO one, the orange one from clay season, the blue one for RG, and the White Wimbledon one.

I got 3 actually lol. I have the Blue one from RG, the White one and the Black one. Those really were some of the better jackets that they made. I even got one of the Federer ones, but I hated the fact that it didn't have a hoodie.

You are rightfully pissed. You bought only 4 of those. BTW, do you plan to live 200 years?

Only another 30 or so, but I gotta look good.

I have a few Fed ones too. They are great in their own way but nothing compares to the Rafa hoodies.

The best part is the inner pockets, combined with the double zip...ideal for holding balls during warmups.

Well, the difference there is that the US Auto makers were assembling and manufacturing the cars in the US. The US based apparel companies like Nike and Adidas hardly have anything manufactured in the US. The label says, made in China, Vietnam, etc.

I struggle to understand how that is an argument against Uniqlo. If anything, it is in favor of Uniqlo.

The "Made in the USA" tag was a positive back then as there was the perception that everything made in the US was of higher quality, including cars of course. Now, the already established players in the US clothing market don't even have that going for them as almost none of them are domestically manufactured.

Excited for it and to see Australia! Always one my favs

I was just gonna say I think they’ll come out with something pretty cool for the AO. Nike is great powerhouse of a brand, (I’m a huge fan) but they do miss the mark sometimes.
