He can't skip the WTF and even Basel though. He has enough time after that to spend time with his family.I think he needs it to recover from soul crushing loss. Just skip remaining season, take rest, spend time with family and whether it works.
Sascha was too good for him after all.On a fast surface like this, with that huge serve, there's no shame to loose against him.I don't think losing to Sascha is going to crush his soul.
It looks more and more like 2020 will be his last season.
Getting wildcards into every draw ranked 250 in the world? He's barely in top 20 form at 38Nah. He'll play until after his 40th birthday.
I'm going to have to ask you to stop being a good poaster and all around solid dudeWhy is Federer never allowed to lose but when Djokovic does it’s okay lol.
It’s Shanghai let the young dudes have their moment. I’m still not sold on them in slams

You're underestimating how fast a player's decline can be. Look at Berdych and Tsonga as recent examples, Gasquet too; they're way younger than FedrHe's less than 2 years from his 40th birthday and is world 3. Barring injury, of course he's still going to be automatically qualifying for draws when he turns 40.
Should Federer take break from Tennis?
You are suggesting that a 38 year-old take a break?I think he needs it to recover from soul crushing loss. Just skip remaining season, take rest, spend time with family and see whether it works.

As a Nadal fan, I have nothing but respect for Roger, and it will be a sad day for true tennis fans to see the Swiss maestro hang up his racquet.

What’s he done for me lately? Looked invariably sluggish on hard courts.don't be a jagoff
He was one point from winning his 9th Wimbledon beating both Nadal and Djokovic back to back. He can still raise his level at slams.
We don't know what kind of contract. To become its Chairman after retiring? For you, Nadal fans, he seems to retire since 2011...
Everytime its the same, he saying that he would play for a lot longer and people know better and claim retirement, he just signed a contract for a tournament till 2023

Because it has always been an important tournament for him.Why can't he skip the WTF ?
Welcome to our world, new user. And yes, every time Fed loses a match it will be time for him to retire and he will never win another match. Ever since 2008.Are we gonna create a post everytime Federer loses??
His WTF record is also under threat. Why can't he skip the WTF ?
If you look hard enough, I'm sure you will find such threads about Nadal.Shall we create a post regarding Djokovic retirement after his lost today against Tsisipas?
Should we had created a post regarding how Thiem beat Nadal on clay?
Or can we just appreciate the fact that we live in an Era with 2 generations in the top 10 playing great tennis?
6 months ago, nice...Won Miami,final Indian Wells
I know, I just found another one as well for Djoko's lost.If you look hard enough, I'm sure you will find such threads.
If it was a soul crushing loss then he needs to retire.I think he needs it to recover from soul crushing loss. Just skip remaining season, take rest, spend time with family and see whether it works.
Roger only care about his majors record. and keeing rafa off 20 majorsHis WTF record is also under threat.
because he’s the GOAT?Why is Federer never allowed to lose but when Djokovic does it’s okay lol.

Please don´t compare these players to FedererYou're underestimating how fast a player's decline can be. Look at Berdych and Tsonga as recent examples, Gasquet too; they're way younger than Fedr
It eventually happens to everyone. Federer's movement is noticeably garbage compared to even a couple years ago. Only thing he's got is serve. Please don´t compare these players to Federer
Yes I know that it happens to everyone but I don´t see Federer in two years declining from number 3 and a real contender at every tournament, to a nobody that can win barely a roundIt eventually happens to everyone.
