2019 blade

Anyone have a picture or specs of the new 2019 blade? i talked to a wilson rep and they said that one will be released later this year, i imagine before the US Open. any news?

The clash is by far the worst pj wilson is currently selling. if the balde will resemble the clash in any way i feel it will take a big hit in sales and use, i wasnt a fan of the countervail however the pj was great especially the pro stock gloss, many will switch to another frame like the ezone 98 whos paint is great, along with being a great racquet. wilson was doing great, but it seems like theyre becoming lazy with their pj.

I agree that the paint job of the Clash is pretty bad, but I don't know if Wilson will take a big hit in sales and use... Maybe a small affect. I own 2 Clash Tours, even though I dislike the pj, because I think the racquet suits my needs. I think in the end it will really depend on how the racquet feels and plays.

People still bought Blades even when they painted it black, white, and hot pink to test its marketing power on its technical merits alone.

I bought 2 of them new from TW at steep discounts!

w.clash=its not the pretties paint job, but its also not the worst,, after a time, it kinda grows on you
its also very easily identifiable
but if it playes good and looks ok, ppl will buy
I also think its part of their model identification for that realease,
I wouldn't be surpriced if the w.ultras come out with similar paint scheme soon,,
wait 2 years time and a new design comes out through out the lines

i think the bold is hands-down the worst paint

blue ezone paint is one of my favorites

I don't love the Clash pj, but it's growing on me over time, and I don't expect that the new Blade pj will really make a difference in sales. I think a lot of people outside of these forums don't care as much about pj's, especially once pros start using the new pj. Additionally, the new Blade shouldn't have CV, and that should be enough to get most of the Bade fans on TT to buy the new version, since they all seem to have hated CV so much.

I guess you'll get used to it.
It looked afwul the first time I saw it but it's not that bad after a couple more of pics, imo.

I agree a lot of intermediate and advanced players will continue to use the blade, or any racquet really, based off of its play and feel, but also there is a market out there where people are buying racquets almost entirely off of its PJ, I even know advanced players who use a racquet because quote on quote "dude the paint is sick on this racquet" lol

I have a hard time believing that an "advanced player" would care, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that there are idiots out there who are superficial enough to let PJ's dictate what gear they use.

Definitely a few of them out there... I know people who simply don’t care what they use they’re good with anything and don’t mind any racquet, unless it’s a Walmart racquet lol, and that’s the level everyone wants to be at

I hear the new one will be a Twin Blade - a revolutionary double-beamed racquet to follow the Clash.

Clash PJ kinda makes it look like an off-brand Radical

As weird as CV is, I would choose it over Graphene any day of the week. Maybe they can put it in mountain bikes instead, lol
