Anyone else get tickets to 2021 Laver Cup in Boston and extremely disappointed in the lineup? Team Europe has no Fed, Djoker or Nadal. Represented by 6 players that have a combined 0 GS. Medvedev, Citybus, Zed, Bwehhhhh, Berrettini, and Ruud. So far world only has 3 players announced that also have a combined 0 GS in Shapo, FAA, and Schwartzman.

I have tickets and I’m excited at the lineup. Great chance to see the top players in a smaller venue and more relaxed setting. These are great players and well worth seeing IMO. You’ve got slam finals, multiple masters, and an olympic gold winner in Team Europe Lineup. That works for me

Sure for a normal ticket price at an ATP 500/1000 maybe, but the good tickets are 1,500-5k a piece! I only bit the bullet at the chance to see the Maestro play one time in person before he rides off into the sunset.

Are there any ATP level tournaments held near Boston? From what I found, it seems like Boston itself last hosted an ATP event all the way back in 1999... over 20 years ago.

For many people, this could be their first opportunity to see live top-tier level tennis without having to travel, so this could still be special for them.

For others, especially those not attending in person, losing the likes of Federer and Nadal certainly diminishes the interest significantly. Let's face it, nobody really cares about Europe vs the World.

ATP Cup is held in Australia and more interesting, and Laver was australian. Drop that Mickey Mouse tournament and rename the ATP Cup "Laver Cup" instead.

I think the majority of those attending would be locals. I don't think there would be that many people coming from far away to watch it. They might as well go to New York for the US Open instead.

Should they put Cilic because he has 1 GS? There are no GS holders who isn't injured or fatigued (Djok).

I mean would you really be more inclined to go if Marin Cilic was playing for Team Europe? Outside the Big 3, the only other players with slams are Wawrinka, Cilic, Murray & Thiem. None of those players (apart from Thiem) are anywhere near their best.

The lowest ranked player on Team Europe is ranked 11. Three of them are in the top 5. Just because they don’t have GS doesn’t mean that they are not worth watching. When I purchased my tickets I was hoping to see Federer but I guess the universe is not allowing that to happen, but getting to see Meddy and Tsitsi on the same team could be worth the price of admission. I’d love to see them play doubles. That could be tons of fun.

I’m traveling from Oklahoma City. All in with hotel, flight, car rental and tickets about $5-6k for both of us. We are also doing THOF while we are in New England.
