A little disappointed that Leylah didn’t win because she beat the better players overall, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

Emma got a huge following after her Wimby showing, and this win will make her a bigger celeb in Britain. If she wins Wimby in the near future, she'll basically be royalty in England. The British press are viscous, I hope they don't ruin her. I wish her all the best. She is the real deal.

Given the current state of their level and skill, if both are in good form, Fernandez just doesn't have the game right now to beat someone like Raducanu. It remains a question mark if Fernandez can develop her game more to beat a player like Raducanu. Maybe if Fernandez' father steps aside as her coach. She needs a coach who will add more depth to her game.

From what I've seen, Fernandez needs more variety. I don't think I saw her hit a single intentional slice the entire match. She has drop shots, but not slices. She also needs more shape to her shots. But she's an amazing talent. Incredible mental stamina and drive.

As I said in a previous post, Raducanu reminds me of Clijsters, Li Na, or Schiavone. Their games simply do not break down unless you can constantly give them variation and prevent them from grooving.
