I have so much respect and admiration for Fed. Still think he’s the greatest and most talented player the game has ever seen, male or female.
He still plays very, very well at 39 3/4 yrs old. But, he has ZERO chance to win the Australian, French or US Open again. He moves at 85-90% of what he did even 2-4 yrs ago. Strokes and serve are still top 10-20 worthy but not his court coverage, especially laterally. Hope he has that one final run in him at Wimbledon, but that’s a stretch unless he’s serving at his absolute peak. Most of his fans would prefer to see him retire by or before the end of the year.
He has NO chance to win Seven best of 5 matches at the US Open with the likes of Zverev, Medvedev, Rublev, Tsitsipas, Thiem, Shapo, Sinner...all 13-20 years younger. Let alone Rafa or Novak.
