So I've taken it upon myself to make a list of all active WTA players who use one-handed backhands.

So far, I have:

Conny Perrin, 27 years old, current world #191 in singles, world #197 in doubles.
Carla Suárez Navarro, 28 years old, current world #25 in singles.
Eleni Daniilidou, 35 years old, current world #1081 in singles, world #986 in doubles.
Tatjana Maria, 30 years old, current world #60 in singles, world #144 in doubles.
Roberta Vinci, 35 years old, current world #167 in singles.
Mayo Hibi, 22 years old, current world #239 in singles, world #488 in doubles.
Viktorja Golubic, 25 years old, current world #116 in singles, world #74 in doubles.
Naomi Broady, 28 years old, current world #128 in singles, world #73 in doubles.
Margarita Gasparyan, 23 years old, current world #1115 in singles.
Francesca Schiavone, 37 years old, current world #156 in singles, world #155 in doubles.

Anyone have anybody else?

Let's share our discoveries so we can find new players to root for in order to preserve the critically endangered one-hander among female pros.

Should be a short thread.

Maybe we can count the posts/players with the fingers of a single hand haha!

The only ones I know of the list are Suárez Navarro, Vinci and Schiavone. The rest are unknown to me.
From the retired lot, I remember Navratilova, Graf and Sabatini.
Don’t ask me for more.

Being a fan of the one handed backhand, I have to nome other players who play it.
-Kathinka Von Deichmann, probably the only one player from Liechtenstein (1994, n. 162 in singles)
-Jessika Ponchet, French girl who played as a WC the AO and the RG, (1996, n.244 in singles)
-Sherazad Reix, one of the few lefty player in the list (1989, n. 264 in singles)
-Katharina Gerlach, who have already made her debut in the Wta tour playing the Nurnberg tournament (1998, n. 508 in singles)
-Marie Temin, other French girl (1992, n. 612 in singles)
-Vinciane Remy, other French (there are many one handed French players!) (1997, n. 1023 in singles)
-Bianca Turati, Italian girl who spent an year in the Usa with her twin sister Anna, who is a two hander. (Bianca, 1997, n. 875)
-Diane Parry, the hope of the one handed backhand. French girl (ça vans dire) who eliminated Jana Fett at the RG's qualifications. (2002, n. 763, n. 27 in the junior ranking)
-Monique Adamczak, already in the top 150 in singles, now she is a doubles' specialist. (1984, n. 54 in doubles)
The girls who played the backhand with only one hand are few, but, looking for in the ranking, there is a little hope that someone could enter the top 50, or, maybe, the top 10

You forgot the most beautiful one hander ever. Frankie Durr. Get a good look at 18 seconds in.

It looks like Djokovic may have styled his overhead after her (35 seconds in).

Yes, I was talking about our times.
In France there were always many one handed backhand, both among women and men.
I remember Mauresmo, obviously, but Bremond, Feuerstein and a lot of other girls

Okay, I found more.

Alexandra Valenstein, currently unranked but still active. 21 years old.

Alex is a college player at Texas Tech. The only tournaments she has played in the past 3 years were ones the team went to. Heard last night that she is not coming back this year and has quit tennis. One of her teammates that just graduated and is playing pro with a one handed backhand is Gabriela Talaba currently ranked 596.

edit: just confirmed that Alex has quit playing tennis.

I think for most women the 2HBH is by far the superior stroke. With their flexibility they can really get great RHS through the ball with limited muscle power required. Many of the women would probably benefit from a 2HFH as well a la Monica Seles.

The 1HBH is a nice looking stroke but I'm not sure we should be "rooting for it" in WTA tennis.

I think her game may have held up the worst among all the great tennis players.
She'd be, like, a 3.0 now.
