Adding remote to Silent Partner Edge Sport

Searched through a few threads here but most of them are dated pre-2010 where links and images are broken.

Does anyone have a step by step tutorial on how to add a 4 channel remote to a SP tennis ball machine?

I have contacted SP directly and received a response within minutes, how I can purchase a plug & play remote system from them for $150 + $20 shipping, which included detailed pictures of installation instructions.

Thanks.

Just ask them to send you the instructions so you can see how difficult it is before you decide. I don't see why they wouldn't send them.

They have a plug/play module that is proprietary to them. They did send the instructions so I could assess the difficulty. It's $170 to add a remote from them, vs. going the DIY route which would be around $20.

I would be purchasing a remote and module from a 3rd party and splicing wires, soldering, etc., in order to get it to work.

What are the instructions? Are you splicing into the hot wire of each motor that you want to control?
4 channel remote? The feed and oscillator are simple on/off. I imagine doing a remote for spin and speed would be much more involved.

Their instructions:
INSTALL REMOTE CONTROL ON SPORT
A.REMOVE 4 SCREWS FIXED CONTROL PANEL
B. PULL OUT CONTROL PANEL AND REMOVE DELAY PCB (show as below)
C. PUT CONTROL PANEL INTO THE MACHINE
D.REMOVE ROLLING WHEELS
E.REMOVE KNOB & WASHERS
F. REMOVE 12 SCREWS AROUND THE BASE
G.MOVE THE BOLT INTO MACHINE THAT CONTROLS HEIGHT OF BALL TRAJECTORY
H.REMOVE THE SHELL FOR INSTALL
REMOTE
I. INSTALL REMOTE CONTROLLER & CLIP FOR FIXING ITS ANTENNA. AFFIX NEW REMOTE ON BY USING TO SELF LOCKING SCREWS
J. RETRACE THE PRECEDING C TO H STEPS TO INSTALL MACHINE
K. MAKE SURE CONNECTED THE REMOTE CONNECTOR TO THE PCB
L. SCREW UP 4 SCREWS TO FIXED THE CONTROL PANEL

Everything is plug/play, no splicing of wires. They do come with pictures for reference.

I guess I'll just start with a 2 channel remote/receiver for the on/off function.
