Is this in lieu of a Hit for Japan exhibition?

I can't see this raising very much money compared to filling a stadium up with 13,000 spectators for an actual tennis exhibition.

I think I hear some excuses coming for Miami?

Rafa didn't play. He was only a spectator.

Oh, ok, I take it back then but the poster mentioned Rafa is wearing himself out because of charities AND exhos. So I jokingly (or maybe not so jokingly) stated that I hear some possible excuses coming up for Miami if he loses. :)

5-2 nonATP soccer team

Well at least they scored twice. Although I would have thought it would be closer than that, as most of the tennisers are very good footballers. I'm actually surprised they did this, as there was probably a very real risk of injury, which is obviously the reason Rafa and Rogi chose not to play.

Well it sounded like the nonATP team were playing like really serious, while the ATP guys were obviously not gonna give it their all. I heard Novak got competitive!

Would be interesting to find out who played in what position. Tsonga and Murray playing in Barricades? :-?

I'm sure Adidas could have hooked them up with some more appropriate footwear since Djokovic isn't wearing tennis shose.

^ Hahaha, competitive with Rog and Raf to be the future no. 1 with conscience...embracing his role as a statesman/athlete. Trying to step up and become Good Djokr. Plus, he's the only one with actual boots on -- turf shoes. Everyone else is wearing tennis shoes.

Looks like a cool event. I would have supported that and bought a few tickets. No shin guards. Pretty laid-back, friendly match there. Usually the unwritten rule is to play clean and not have any carnage out there. Good cause, good sweat, fun game. I'm sure some of the tennis guys got to show off some stepovers, juggles and other skills with the leather ball.

I actually played an indoor soccer match last night. We're all over 30. Intermediate-to-decent level, but also good perspective out there. Nobody wants an E/R visit...for anyone on either side. I'm sure that was the case with this event.

Spoke to Ft. Lauderdale Strikers coach yesterday, Daryl Shore. Funny guy. Said his players would be careful to keep tennis guys healthy..

He joked: "Martin Lancaster [from Scotland] figures if he takes Djokovic and Nadal out, Murray will be able to win a couple of tournaments."

Baghdatis and Murray scored goals, and Baghdatis was voted as the team MVP.

I see a little Maradona in him.

Made me LOL.

Was Murray any good? He was asked to sign for Glasgow Rangers as a kid before he decided to focus on tennis 100%. Thanks.
