Agassi always used OS?

Agassi's used an OS from the time he first hit the pro scene, summer of '86, age 16. POG/OS, Donnay Pro One, and all the versions of the Radical OS beginning in '93 or '94. Not trying to get into a paintjob discourse here; that's just what the frames all looked like to the general public.

I did hear that his frames were customized to 104" down from 107" a couple of years ago, not sure if that is still true.

Agassi gave me one of his LM radical racquets and it is a midplus. I don think he ever used OS racquets. There's not to many pros that do. I for sure know Agassi doesnt.

Idea that Agassi used a 104 frame stems from a JMac mistake. At US Open 2003, Agassi told him his new frame's specs and said 107 head size - Mac assumed the old one was 110 and said he'd gone 3 inches smaller, to be repeated on these boards endlessly. Agassi used a stock POG OS, idea that it was a POG MP is way off-base - you can even tell that from an old video. BTW, Chang in Holding Serve said racquets from Prince's pro room were so poorly quality controlled you might just as well take off the shelf.

i don't believe agassi's ever used anything but oversize racquets. with the possible exception of the us open a few years ago, i challenge anyone to find and post a pic of agassi with a midplus frame.

Agassi plays an OS, and always has. Has the whole world gone crazy? Now maybe we don't exactly agree what the call a frame with a headsize of 104 and up but less than the so-called classic 110, but I certainly wouldn't call it a mid or MP.

Switched during a match

I remember watching Agassi in a televised match (forgot which tournament, but it was a year or more ago, maybe three) and when he switched racquets we were informed by the TV commentator that Agassi had switched to a racquet with a smaller head size. Apparently, he wasn't producing the shots he wanted with the larger head size racquet. This suggests to me that he is prepared to hit with a smaller head size racquet depending on the weather (wind) and court conditions and what his opponent may or may not be doing. The racquets looked identical except for head size. Though I don't remebmer the details (which tournament, etc.), I remember this with certainty. Of course the commentator could have been mistaken. Though the racquet looked smaller to me, could have been the power of suggestion.

Yep, that sounds just about the right time frame for when I was watching this match. He made the switch to the smaller head size in the middle of the match. That made me think that he keeps both head size racquets available, but maybe it was just during that period where he was experimenting with the smaller (but still big, especially for a pro) head size. I wonder why he prefers the larger head size. What advantage does it have for him? With his skill level, he most certainly doesn't have trouble finding the sweet spot, he can generate his own power, and wouldn't a smaller head size give him more precision?

Agassi has always been considered to be one of the best at hitting the ball "on the rise". I've often thought that a larger frame would make hitting the "sweet spot" with this shot a lot easier.

I watched him play the last couple of matches, but cannot see the hole in the frame. He should hold it up and pause for a few seconds.
Not sure what he is playing with, but the new Flexpoint is suppose to play like the old Ti.Radical, which I thought was a great racket.
Looking forward to the tour edition when it comes out, open string pattern will be an improvement.

Quite sure that when he was around 17/18 he had a POG midsize not oversize.

See there is a famous photo in Paris, it was raining and he grabbed a Umbrella from a lady, he is smiling with an umbrella in one hand and his prince in the other, you can idenfify easy a POG midsize not over.
